Large in Lebanon

Hello everybody. I'm sick, sick, sick. Directing Scrubs until 6:30 am this morning turned my little cough into a very annoying cold. If any of you would like to e-mail me some chicken soup it would be greatly appreciated. When I got home today there was a cool fax in my machine that I think would be of interest to all of you who are reading this from outside the U.S. I have the international release dates for Garden State. They are as follows.

Trinidad - Sept. 22 (I know Trinidad - crazy place to kick it all off, huh?)
Lebanon - Oct. 14 (I swear, I'm not kidding you.) (I'm huge in Lebanon.)
Poland - Nov. 5
Australia - Nov. 25
New Zealand - Nov. 25
Slovenia - Nov. 25
Venezuela - Nov. 26
Brazil - Dec. 3
Mexico - Dec. 3
South Africa - Dec. 3
UK - Dec. 10
Chile - Dec. 23
UAE - Jan. 5
Hungary - Jan. 13 (that reminds me, I should order dinner.)
Portugal - Feb. 3
Spain - Feb. 4
Greece - Feb. 11
Italy - Mar. 11
Argentina - Mar. 31
Sweden - Nov. 26 (2005)

Furthermore, the DVD release is staying where it is on December 28th.
I tried to get it moved up, but there's all sorts of elaborate reasons that I won't go into as to why they gave us that date.

Also, this site will be changing soon into a site for the DVD. I'll keep blogging on that site, if you all keep reading. Yes I just said "you all" and I'm from New Jersey. For those of you who are nice enough to correct my grammar and spelling errors, please know that I write this half asleep most of the time and I do indeed know the difference between "your" and "you're".

Awesome song of the day: "Let Me Get What I Want" by The Smiths.

Peace, Love, and NyQuil,
ZB

Hey, I dont know if you read these or not.....I guess your probably a little bit more down to earth than some of the hollywood types..but, you may not be.
Anyway, I saw Garden State today, awesome film...you did a really good job, especially with the music...finally a movie that puts all of my favorite obscure indie rock bands together.
So, good work....

Thank you, thank you thank you, for making Garden State. There are so few people left who create for themselves anymore, and you did brilliantly and unapolagetically and I very much so apprieciate your art. Your work inspires.
Love, Raleigh

Nyquil....awesome stuff

Posted by: KAT | Oct 10, 2004 12:38:59 AM

"Your" shows possession and "you're" means you are.

:) Just kidding.

Your (heh) grammar is quite accurate.
Kudos to you.

Oh, and kudos on that big great movie you made, too.
And that's not sarcasm, I think I sorta fell in love.

Do me a personal favor and never let Scrubs die?
That would be real cool...

Hey, there,

Was about to shut down the ole 'puter for the night and thought I'd check out the blog. I haven't posted in a while, I guess.

I was sick all last week, too - I sympathize. I pulled a muscle in my back today, too - great fun, especially considering I just had to sit here at my computer working for the last 8 hours.

Anywho -- glad to hear from ya. Sorry you're not feeling better. I would definitely email you the soup if I could...

Try a hot shower and clean sheets on your bed -- it always makes me feel better (unless you're the kind of sick that makes you want to pass out in a hot shower, in which case ignore that advice, I don't want to be responsible for your passing out naked in the shower and suffering a concussion and waking up in three days with wrinkled skin and naked pictures of you taken by your cleaning lady on the front cover of the Enquirer).

Well...Garden State still rocks my socks and I'm definitely asking for the DVD as a gift (I'm a poor grad student, so alas pre-ordering is not in my near future, sad ain't it?).

Listen, if you can't sleep and you want to email a random fucking person for no other reason than you're totally delerious, drop me a line.

I'll be hittin' the sack in a few if I don't hear from ya.

Peace out - much love, and a speedy recovery.

Goodnight dish.

Love,
Spoon

I saw Garden State when I was in New York this summer, and I thought it was so deeply touching and articulated so many things that I had felt, I guess when writings really good it makes you think of your own life not just the lives your watching. And it made me think of growing up in Toronto and how green everything seemed and new and fresh, and how I always long to return to that. Thank you for that. It also really inspired me to keep writing and acting. Also I just have to say I don't think you look anything like that guy from Everybody Loves Raymond, I saw you on some talk show with drew Carey who said that. Oh and one more thing- this is my first blog- but it's really fucking cool (can I swear?) I thought Natalie Portman was so beautiful, I don't mean just how she looks, cause everyone goes on and on about that, but really magnificent in her work.

Zach, any promotional work being done by yourself in the locations you mentioned in your fax? more specifically in New Zealand? oh and note I also have poor spelling in my earlier post! we have so much in common......not really but I like to think so

Posted by: Adam | Oct 10, 2004 12:46:15 AM

p.s. If you're not sure what to say to a totally random fucking stranger over email, start by telling me your thoughts on tofu. It's a good ice breaker.

Hey Zach, I just started working at my local movie theater tonight. I'm an usher, which basically means I clean up after all the bastards leave each theater. I've now seen the end of Garden State like 8 times (3 times paying to go see it and 5 while waiting for it to end so I can clean)... Thank you so much for a soundtrack that is not at all annoying after so many times having to hear the credits' role! I think I am gonna kill Will Smith if I have to hear that song at the end of Shark's Tale again (and of course, I have to hear it about a thousand more times!)... At least I get to wander in and see pieces of Garden State whenever I have nothing else to do, I LOVE IT! I can get a poster too when we're done showing it which is awesome!
Well, thats about it... Can't wait for that DVD to hear the commentary track!

ZAAAACCCCCHHHH... please man,,, you have to tell me... is GS coming to argentina? I really want to know,,, this is the fourth time I ask. A simple YES will suffice. Oh, and, by the way... i've already seen it. I didn't love it, but im willing to give it a second chance.

Sebastian.

Besides the songs on the Garden State soundtrack and the songs you recommend on this blog, is there a specific song that you really really enjoy and might even need some time to think about it? Stupid question right...I just really want to know...I'm putting together a CD and the songs on it are going to be favorite songs of people I know and just random people and I thought I have this chance to ask Zach Braff for him to choose one song that he really likes and I'll put it on the CD and BANG, I'll get hit by a school bus full of nuns who will then panic and proceed to throw me in a river...but before that, please tell me what your favorite song is...thanks. And if you dont tell me, thats cool, if you think of it, okay? Thank you and congrats on the expansion of Garden State all over the freaking world. Next thing you know they'll be showing it on the moon where no one will be watching, but still...the moon baby!!! Okay, have yourself an intersting week...

Sorry to hear that you are sick. I hope you feel well soon. Love your blog, and love The Garden State. I am very excited for it to come out on the DVD! The soundtrack is also wonderful, I listen to constantly. I was wondering if you ever watch Jon Favreau's Dinner for Five? And what is your latest cd recommedation? Well have a lovely week and I hope you will begin to feel well soon! :)

Always,
Patrice
