I got punched in the face today, and it is still the best day ever. I am so gald your new page is up, and your mini film fest idea is revolutionary. I will enter of course. Wish me luck. You are such an inspiration to me as a self sufficent filmmaker, as a film student in austin , our professors always ask what voices influnece us, and you are always at the top on my list. (with Michele Gondry, W. anderson, T.Solondz,as close seconds.)Your work has incredible insight to things left unsaid, and is very poignant and funny. And although i know your just getting started, i am forever a fan, and am excited to see what your work will grow to become.

P.s. Last summer i worked on my first film, as a production assistant. It was the best time of my life. And last week i found out i am on IMDB, i have no picture yet, but the sense of accomplishment is overwhelming.
Sometimes i get frustrated because i am not where i would like to be in life, but then i remember that im only 20 and that growing up a little ashy black girl from the hood, i have come along way. So its a start. :o)

On my machine, the site doesn't work at all in Firefox. In IE, you can see that the site is aesthetically pleasing but functionally not so much. And it bogs down my computer and is not very responsive.

and finally it gets real. :D
But --
Since Macromedia does not support Flash on other than Windows machines, many many people (including me) can not be part of it. :(
Consider. One has do buy software for ~200 USD to watch your website. There should be an alternative way to get to the information. Maybe some kind of text-website or a link to a xml-feed (such like atom or rss) which holds the information from the website in text format.
This way my screen keeps black. :(

Flash is EVIL. And so is your site now. I'm sorry man. Many people only get black pages because of that. It was a waste of money. You should at least offer an alternativ without flash (like this page) to not lock out many people! :(

Plus writing a small comment takes forever because it loads all the over comments before that and that takes a LOT of time.

Mr. Braff wanted something extraordinary for his fans, so his new site is built completely with Flash 8 (the latest version). We did this for two reasons: 1) it makes it easy for Mr. Braff to post, and 2) we can do lots of fun stuff you can't do on a regular CSS blog like this one.

In summation, tips for best-viewing of the website include - upgrade to the Flash 8 plug-in and order broadband.

I did download Flash 8 and I have cable internet but I still can't post. I have an iMac and I am using Firefox but I also tried it with Internet Explorer. The Flash is messed up, when I click on the blog, it only shows the first few comments and then just says "loading" forever. HELP!!!!!!

I have seen the trailer "the Last Kiss".... but it is equal to ours "L'ultimo bacio"... I say 'ours' but i mean... 'my' Italian "last kiss"... it seems copied in the least details. I hope to be wrong me, because despite 'you' have a great imagination (I say 'you' but I mean 'Americans') I don't understand because you have to make really every thing, even movies.

Zach I thought this testament to the depth of your celebrity status would amuse you...I decorate model homes in Orlando and Fabricut (a fabric manufacturer) has just issued a new sample book in which all of the fabrics are identifed by last names of celebrities, and there is a lovely pink silk plaid named "Braff". The hover effects you could do by utilising the script.aculo.us Javascript library.

The various videos could be embedded Flash Video files (ok, that's using Flash, but at least that's embedded into HTML so if the browser chokes on the flash, then it can still render something).

Install the Audioscrobbler plugin on Zach's media player, sign him up to Last.fm, then use the XML latest-listening-to feeds from the REST services section in the Audioscrobbler site. This could be put onto the page dynamically via the XMLHttpRequest Javascript object.

Of course, you're not going to get /exactly/ the same effect by not using Flash, but by not being revolutionary I meant it's only a blog with videos in it. You could achieve the same /functionality/ without using Flash.

Anyway, kudos on the RSS.

well.. and I got to tell a story because it started here.. and "ZACH BRAFF" was the subject of over a hundred of mails :P

it was the last big post you did..
And as always.. I posted something :) .. some crazy stuff :P
I think 2 weeks after.. I was sitting in front of my computers at work.. working on a program.. and my hiptop shouted.. You got mail.. I read the ticker and the senders name was susan... I thought it was spam like almost every mail I get.. so I didn't read it immediately.. After 1 or 2 hours working I did a coffeebrake.. So of course I read the mails my hiptop collected in all that time. And I read that mail of this specific sender.. And it was a girl.. a girl who wrote a mail to me because of this post I left here in this blog. At this time I was in a phase I said.. girls? what girls? I had so much bad luck with girls so I thought .. all things I think about now is the work .. and coffee :)
Okay.. now.. it was very lovely what she wrote.. and I began to smile.. I wrote her back and blablabla.. something happened.. after some days with 5-6 mails a day we talked via icq.. and it was cool.. I really liked her.. she was so .. so.. so really cool :D
She loved garden state.. and she liked the kind of music which has been used in garden state.. And at all.. she was so funny :) .. I laughed with her the whole day.. via icq... And now imagine.. you are a guy.. whose only thing is the work.. who got no sweet lady he may love.. such a guy.. tries to get this one lady.. this one lady who could be the one for his little unimportant life.. And so I asked her if I may call her.. well.. she said yes.. but 2 days before we wanted to phone she cut the connection we had :'( I tried to reach her with some mails but nothing came back :( .. I was really down after this.. I couldn't work with my colleagues at all.. they said I was very angry and aggressive..

and now are 3 months left.. I often think on her.. what could have been if we phoned? if we met?

could we had fall in love ...?

well.. that's my little sad story who began here and ends here..
Zach, if you read this.. I mean, I don't believe it because you definitely got less time than me :P.. but if you do.. I hope you are still dating your loveley lady you've written about..

And all others.. If you got a partner.. think about what you get with him or her.. what wonderful connection you have.. what wonderful person she or he is.. and all of you who are alone.. you're not alone.. :P

So Zach, good work on the website , it's like a Christmas present in June. I rarely ever have time to surf the web but I spent like a good hour checking it out. He everybody!

I’m sorry but I have to tell about my day and there’s no one who wants to talk with me (They are all at Mallorca ;( ). It was such a day of sh… It started with “Bad” milk in my coffee… That was the second when I realized it would be a very hard Monday. I study german and religion to become a teacher for these subjects. Today there was a seminar called “Kirchengeschichte” (history of church)… Don’t now why (because I always do my best although this seminar is very boring) but the docent doesn’t like me and so I had to answer every question which really feels like dying because you’re scared to say something wrong while 30 people are watching you and waiting for you to make a mistake… I know in general it means nothing and there are people with “real” problems but sometimes everything bad happens on one day, in that one minute when it’s already hard to hold back the tears at least it feels like that and just when you think it’s over for today another piece of sh… happens. At 5pm a came home and realized that my fridge is defect- I had the feeling there’s one big ocean in my kitchen and last my dog (Tony) “told” me that he was ill and now we both sit on bed and cry together for better days… It’s so crazy to cry with a dog… Thank you for let me writing down this great monday

No offense man, but there are a lot of crazies posting comments on your site. I just wanted to thank you for putting together the best movie soundtrack in history with the Garden State soundtrack. I don't know if you hand-selected each and every song, but I'm grateful nonetheless. I can still remember the "blown away" feeling I was left with after watching the trailer for the first time. You're very much a master of your craft. hey zach, whats up?

i'll be honest, i havent watched garden state, i dunno why, but i think you're best acheivement yet was scrubs your awsome in that show, ofcourse i also watched chicken little it was so cute, i remember when chicken little got so confused at the begining of the movie when he thought the sky was falling and it was only an acorn and he said this unbelievable thing like he linked these words together and it was very cute lol, my friend and i started saying that phrase when we run out of words or when things get tooo weird. anywayz this is my first time to comment on this site, saw the video post, but it's from such a long time ago, i mean make a new one sooon plz, sooo um scrubs is really cool it's so funny sometimes you just admire the humor without laughing really, so keep us posted

I saw the preview for The Last Kiss and thought was wicked psyched to hear snow patrol in it, and i thought, how weird when i first saw garden state i commented on here asking you if you've ever heard them cause i thought the song you actually had playing on the preview fit in really well with garden state...coincidence?!

Dear Zach,

As a resident, I have to tell you that I love Scrubs...I am constantly asked if life in the hospital is like it is on Scrubs (my mom asks "Is there really a janitor that makes your life hell? Is your chief really that nasty?") I wish it were as funny as Scrubs is!

You seem like an interesting person...which might be odd for you to hear, considering all I know about you comes from watching you show and looking at your website...but there is something about you...and...I would love to receive an email from you.
