100th Episode

Hey everybody! Just a quick post to remind you all to check out the 100th episode of  "Scrubs" tonight on NBC at 9:00pm Eastern and Pacific. I directed it and I think it came out pretty cool. You can still watch American Idol (if you must), just switch over at 9 to NBC. Lemme know what you think.

Longer post coming soon. I swear.
Oh and check out the movie, "The Girl in the Cafe". It's very good.

Peace,
ZB

Wow, 100 episodes already! It's gone by fast (to the viewer). Glad to see you posting.

The Girl is the Cafe DOES rock!! Listen to Zack...he's smart.

Posted by: Spur | Jan 24, 2006 12:27:38 PM

I'm still trying to settle my bar-bet of whether John C. McGinley and Ted McGinley are related.

Posted by: wally | Jan 24, 2006 12:28:36 PM

Congrats on 100 episodes!

I have never commented before but there were only 3 comments when I clicked over here, so what the heck.

Just want to add my voice to the choir: I love your work. I own Garden State and have seen it many, many times...each time it makes me cry (in a good way).
I am thrilled by your success because it means more wonderful things to come from you.
Love your movie/music/book recommendations, and appreciate what you do here even if it is sporadic.

Posted by: Sarah | Jan 24, 2006 12:39:54 PM

thanks for the reminder, zach! will watch the show for sure. bill nighy in a romantic comedy? i still can't get him out of my head as the diry old rocker in love actually...

Posted by: cathy | Jan 24, 2006 12:40:42 PM

(mind you, but i thought that to be a good movie, too)

Posted by: cathy | Jan 24, 2006 12:41:28 PM

Wow. Hey, just stumbled upon your blog! Scrubs is the only sitcom I watch so I won't be missing tonight's episode for anything.

Posted by: Brian | Jan 24, 2006 12:44:54 PM

I've been running through Seasons 1&2 these days (thanks, Santa!) and it has just made me appreciate this brilliant show more.

Posted by: Shane | Jan 24, 2006 12:48:08 PM

Congratulations, Zach - I can't believe you've done 100 either! But mostly it's because I keep forgetting to watch. Thanks for giving us a heads-up via the blog! Now that Arrested Development has gone on permanent hiatus, Scrubs is the only place I can get my non-traditional sitcom smiles...

Posted by: Elayne Riggs | Jan 24, 2006 12:48:47 PM

Can't wait for it to air in the UK.

Posted by: Kat | Jan 24, 2006 12:51:45 PM

Don'cha worry your pretty lil' head! We'll be watching b/c American Idol's got nothin' on you baby! YEAH! 100 eps! That means syndication which in turn means more Scrubs!!

Posted by: highbrow | Jan 24, 2006 12:53:05 PM

Hey Zach, i'm so happy i'm not the 10000th comment! What ever happened to the musical recommendations? they were great!

Posted by: Gabriela | Jan 24, 2006 12:54:46 PM

Congratulations! I'll be watching.

I keep watching American Idol just for the small hopes that you might come on a bust some moves.

Thanks for the moments Zach.

Posted by: Dan | Jan 24, 2006 12:58:09 PM

Congratulations on 100 episodes!

I suppose us in the UK will have to wait even longer? :P

Thanks for a great show.

Posted by: Kara | Jan 24, 2006 1:05:17 PM

I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode--an homage to the Wizard of Oz=awesome, and I heard Jason Bateman's ep is the one airing at 9:30.

I just got the Garden State soundtrack; I'm in a mellow mood right now so I'm really enjoying it, especially "Let Go."

Girl in the Cafe is very cool. I saw it when it first aired.

Posted by: Amy | Jan 24, 2006 1:05:41 PM

Yay! 100th episode. I am very excited, I'll definately be tuning in (forget about American Idol).

When's zachbraff.com going to be up and running?

Posted by: Ellen | Jan 24, 2006 1:09:39 PM

Posted by: Danielle | Jan 24, 2006 1:13:09 PM

Congrats on the 100th episode. All the episodes have been awesome! I def will be watching tonight

Posted by: Christina | Jan 24, 2006 1:20:35 PM

Hey Zach! It's so awesome that you post on this. I'm sad to say that I've never seen an episode of Scrubs, but that's only because I have no control what-so-ever of the remote and what we watch in the house. My sister's think that the T.V belongs to them, so therefore, we always watch reruns of shows on the disney chanel. And since I don't want to watch the same shows all the time, I go read or listen to music in my room. But my friend is going to lend me his copy of the first season so I can finally see it. He says that it's hilarious, so I'm lookng forward to a good laugh. I finally went to the mall and bought the soudract to Garden State and gave my friend her copy back. I LOVE IT! You're got amazing taste in music. Bye!!

Posted by: Steph | Jan 24, 2006 1:21:43 PM

I'm excited for the show tonight!

I miss your posts; I'm glad you're back.

I sent you an email not long ago--did you get it?

Posted by: Vanessa | Jan 24, 2006 1:28:56 PM

i'm so excited! i watched Office Space this morning to get some John C. McGinley to gear up for tonight. AAAAND i heard a little voice clip of yours on the radio talking about the Wizard of Oz-like episode, so that was great! keep on keeping on.

thanks 4 the laughs on scrubs, and the tears on Garden State - LOVELOVELOVED the 'kissing in the rain' scene with Natalie - now i won't feel like I've lived unless someone kisses me in the rain like that :)

Posted by: jojo | Jan 24, 2006 1:44:25 PM

Hey Zach..

Nice to hear from you dude, im from England and this is my first post. I am huge fan of garden state, i swear i've fallen in love with natalie portman. lol. Congrats on coming public about mandy moore, shes hot dude, i cant believe steve carroll won the award over you, no way!! Scrubs is absolute kick ass, best show on t.v. at the moment, and im not just saying that. What a genuis Bill Lawrence is, and you for that matter.

Ive gotten all me mates to watch it, and they've all gone out and bought season's 1 and 2.

Hey just to let you know, you inspire me so much with what you've done and as a fellow actor, i hope i be as half as good as you man, i'm at university actually, also writing a script, going a bit slow coz i got all this shitty coursework holding me back, but hopefully i'll get done by christmas, so if all goes well, save me a guest spot on scrubs. lol.

Lucas
P.S. Bought the soundtrack of G.S... dude you have like the best taste in music ever!! Rock on buddy...

Im still waiting for the new series to start in GB, but definatley looking forward to it.
Made my mum record the whole golden globes thing to see if you would be interviewed and you were. You looked so cute and that new suit was very fancy!
Im really looking forward to the Last Kiss, I have no idea when its out over here though.
Well stay as cute and talented as ever.

Howdy, stranger.

Me? Watch Scrubs episode 100? I'd love to, but the UK is about as fast as a really slow thing when it comes to new sitcom episodes. Anyone got any idea when it'll be aired across the puddle?

Well, you know, keep up the blogging, cliche cliche, and please keep adding those rather magical music recommendations. They bring love and joy into my world.

Posted by: Jenny (not the same as the one who posted before - I'm cooler ;) ) | Jan 24, 2006 1:51:35 PM

I wish I could watch the episode but since I live in Sweden I guess I´ve to wait for a looong time before it´s on TV here....

Anyway: I like Scrubs, to watch a episode always make me in a good mood!!

Hope it´ll be at least 100 more episodes!

Posted by: Sofia | Jan 24, 2006 1:51:40 PM

Zach,

Congrats on the nomination. You should have won.

And I reserve my Tuesday nights for Scrubs. And tell all my friends to watch, but of course, don't need the reminder.

Take care, and keep that gorgeous smile out there!

Aaaand yes, I realize that it hasn't actually aired yet, but that's just in anticipation of the greatness to come.

Thanks for being awesome.

That's awesome ZB! I'm going to put Scrubs Season 1 at the top of my netflix list. I've never seen the the 1st season and I'm looking forward to watching all the espisods back to back. Gotta love DVDs man. And after watching this season I just can't stop thinking about how much fun you all are having making Scrubs. Here's to 100 more espisodes! Psst... also loved Peter Sarsgaard on SNL, and the little mentioning of Garden State.

Posted by: dfreeze | Jan 24, 2006 2:19:39 PM

I haven't even heard of the Girl in the Cafe! What is that about?

Posted by: Paige Gresty | Jan 24, 2006 2:21:34 PM

Great to hear you've come to your 100th episode.

I just wonder how long it'll take to get to Australia.

Posted by: Rodney Olsen | Jan 24, 2006 2:26:43 PM

WOW! I think for the first time in a year and a half, I've been in the top 50 to post!! Sweet :)

Can't wait to see the show. I knew it was the 100th, but didn't know you directed it.
I'll follow-up w/ feedback asap!

Posted by: Alisa L. | Jan 24, 2006 2:27:19 PM

Congrats. on the 100th episode!!
It's a shame that after so many episodes the show is still underrated, because in my opinion Scrubs is one of the funniest and most entertaining showa since Seinfled and Friends. I hope NBC will learn to appreciate the show, cause Scrubs is one of those speacial shows which can make you laugh when you are sad and lift your mood.
Cant wait to watch the episode tonight!
P.s. Just bought the Garden State DVD, I very much enjoyed the Bonus features, especially the Jewish monologue of you and Natalie talking through the movie

Posted by: Dotan | Jan 24, 2006 2:28:27 PM

SALUT Zach! So happy U posted a little mail..
Just some words to tell U that I'm probably your biggest French fan & I really love Garden State! I've the 2 first seasons of Scrubs & I'm waiting for the following ones.. Unfortunately I must wait a long long...time(SO long!)before seiing the 100th episode in France..

MY DEAR ZACH,

HEY AMERICAN IDOL IS OK BUT SCRUBS IS ALOT BETTER, BY THE WAY YOU WERE GREAT THIS MORNING (ON THE RADIO) YOU DID SOUND LIKE YOU WERE DRUNK, I HAVE NEVER DIALED THAT TURK NUMBER BUT I WILL TRY IT NOW!!!

LOVE YOUR WORK,
ADRIANA

Posted by: adriana | Jan 24, 2006 2:32:28 PM

I love Scrubs more than life itself. When will someone invent a remote control that turns your life into what your watching? My friends aren't funny anymore compared to Scrubs and Arrested Developement. How SAD is that? Now I am depressed!

Posted by: JakiO | Jan 24, 2006 2:34:46 PM

I'm so happy Scrubs is back. I'll be sure to watch tonight.

Posted by: Alex | Jan 24, 2006 2:47:09 PM

Congrats on Scrubs. I can't believe NBC is treating the show so poorly. WTF was with showing a depressing documentary during the Scrubs spot three weeks ago? I really wish networks would understand the talent they had before it was too late (i.e. Arrested Development). Then again, we are talking about the network that didn't realize what they had with Seinfeld until the fourth season.

Still, just know that there is a ridiculously loyal fanbase for Scrubs out here and we're hungry for more! Thanks for keeping up the blog, and I can't wait to see the episode.

Posted by: Evie | Jan 24, 2006 3:17:17 PM

Hey Zach!

It is very unfair: In the US there is the 100th episode (which is great, congrats) and in Germany Scrubs was dropped in the middle of the 3rd season without a reason as I think. I can only hope that soon the many episodes we already missed will be shown.

Sunny greetings from here,
Marina :)

Posted by: Marina | Jan 24, 2006 3:18:06 PM

100 episodes. Man, I counted how many episodes were on ym box sets and then realized how many more episodes I need to own. Its alot. So where have you been? We haven't been seeing alot of you lately. Well, of course the globes and all, but I meant here. Anywho, we all miss ya here. Write us again soon. Take care and don't work too hard. Bue Zach.

SOOOOO glad scrubs is back!!!! no way i'm watching american idol!!

Posted by: Sarah | Jan 24, 2006 3:56:12 PM

...and by "Get Scrubs on iTunes," I mean, "Zach, exert your influence to allow us to buy individual episodes," not, "Go run out and get it there!" Because you can't. Which is my point.

Posted by: Ben | Jan 24, 2006 3:57:25 PM

Hot diggity! I'm pumped for the 100th episode mate. The new series so far has been top shelf A-class good times, so thanks!

I'm heading back home to Australia in about 7 weeks, and I couldn't be more excited! Home time! But shortly after that I'm on my way over to LA, and that's silly happy mega exciting as well. Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other. Keep chillin' like a villian, friend. Cheerio!

OH MY GOD!!!

I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!!

Posted by: Heather | Jan 24, 2006 4:10:06 PM

I just realised how nice it must be for you now - when you set up this site you must have been checking it fairly often to see if comments had been made but now theres been a major role reversal .... your mass of fans must be checking your site more often than you and you can just let things run smoothly and the comments just appear day by day!!

(so many now that you probs only read the first few.. if that! .. ah well, its nice to think you may actually read the rest too - but this is a great procrastination method!!)

annyyhoo....

congrats on the 100th episode - shame this series isnt out here in the UK yet so i have no idea whats happening in it at the moment!

Hope things just keep on going onwards and upwards for you
and final thing before i get back to reality - Joshua Radin is phenomenal .. please use more of his songs on scrubs so the world discovers his talent!!

I believe I have watched almost every episode to date. I even tried calling Turk's cell phone way back when. I never got through, but I loved that idea. You ought to post a clip of jiggly ball. That had me and my family in hysterics! I think I'll get some unsuspecting someone I know with that one. Hrmm, I might be able to find some janitor to try it, and that'll exact some revenge for ya.

I've always thought of myself as the really cool guy who has such great amount of pride that he wouldn't even consider writing a letter explaining that he loves this person who he'd never met. Especially not to a man from the U.S. because it's such a long travel to the U.S. from Sweden, and up till I saw the first episode of Scrubs I've always thought that I was straight. But hell, what can a poor boy do? 'Cause it is in fact the truth that I'm startin' to fall in love with you. May I say that all my lumberjack-friends are very chocked about the fact that I, Jens Zakrisson, is fallin' for a guy. They all thought (including me) that I would fall for a girl with blonde hair and big tits, but instead I fell for a Jewish man with brown hair and, if I may say, a quite mediocre pair of tits. But that's love, right? However, now there's two men that I would like to be in a bathtub with; that's you and Bruce Springsteen. But my feelings towards Bruce are more in a father-son kind of way. With you it's just plain love. Well, with this info in your hands you can do whatever you'd like to, and if it's meant to be the two of us, you'll find me. I'm in the book (in the Swedish version, that is).

100th episode? Oh I am soo there. The last couple of weeks have been hilarious!!! I’ve been busy on Tuesdays, so my boyfriend’s been recording it for me then I watch it at home. It’s so funny cause when I was watching the ninja one; my son walked in and was transfixed. He luuuuuvs the physical comedy stuff. (he’s such a guy, he’s 9) so now everytime there’s a funny part, we pause it, then let him watch it, then rewind it so he can crack up again. He was rolling on the floor when it came to the 4th story atomic wedgie too. Is there anything more cool then kids laughing?

Okay, i know there's like 90 posts, so there's no way you'll get to this, but i have to tell you. i'm an 8th grade special ed. teacher and my boyfriend and I are celebrating our 6 year anniversary(which some people think are wierd becuase we're getting married in may) but, nonetheless, being as how i was about to become the future Mrs.Berkowitz(and totally pumped for the adventure) i was a little peeved that my fiance' rushed me through supper to get home to watch Scrubs. but, i had to let it be known, that, as i've always wanted a gospel choir to bust out in song at our wedding(just like Ein Keloheinu- in "Keeping the Faith"), that after seeing Lavern's gospel choir sing out to your charachter, it was worth rushing through dinner. we celebrated fully, but found thought this was worth a post!
way to work the 100th episode!!

I'm watching the 100th episode as I type this and let me just say... Awesome! You are an amazing director and I really look up your ambition and passion of directing. I saw what you did with Garden State and it made me want to persue a career in film production.

Posted by: Lauren | Jan 24, 2006 6:22:07 PM

The 100th episode was MOST awesome Zachary.

Posted by: Conor | Jan 24, 2006 6:29:31 PM

Yay for two comments on one entry. The 100th just ended, and it was spectacular!!! You are such a talented director. Thank you for that. I'm off to get ready for number 101!!!

Congrats on another success.

Good to hear from you again. This is post is going to be somewhat frighteningly high on the list.

So! A very good episode even though references to the musical version of Wizard of Oz make me a little twitchy(I was an extra in high school and still haven't gotten over the annoyance of hours and hours of the songs and dances). I've got to say, this season has been well worth the wait, although it still stinks how long it took to get to air.

Hope you're doing very well and because I would feel bad if I didn't remind you to, take good care of yourself.

Time for the next episode maybe I will come ramble at you again after.

I just finished watching the 100th, and I am continually amazed with the camera shots you guys pull off every week. Your steady cam shots are awesome, with longs takes and weaving through those hallways, your camera crew must be great. So here's my question of the day, how did you pull off the camera shot at the end of the episode? That had to be a heck of a crane.

Posted by: Dan | Jan 24, 2006 6:32:05 PM

such a good one!

frick i love the heart-warming episodes! but it also made me laugh embarassingly loud...why are you so freakin funny?!? it makes me jealous and giggly all at once. you make a great dorothy by the way...uber-sexy with the red shoes!

Hey Zach...just watched the 100th episode and I thought it was one of the show's best...right up there with the last one with Brendan Frasier...the writing and direction were superb..and every episode with Ted's acapella quartet is always a treat...keep up the great work...

Definitely one of the best episodes yet. The Wizard of Oz theme was beautifully executed. God, I love this show. Best 1/2 hour on TV, right next to Arrested Development. Speaking of which, the one you guested in was hilarious!

Zach. Zach. Zach.

A 30 year old man told me once that, "Zack Braff is to your generation what John Cusack was to mine"

I think that is a compliment.

Whatever it means, I think you are cool.

Posted by: Sam | Jan 24, 2006 6:51:26 PM

Fantastic episode. Perhaps the best episode Scrubs I've seen. I love how just when you think J.D. couldn't get any girlier, you find him in a bubble bath listening to TOTO and eating mango body butter. Keep going with the directing; if you can put together something as hilarious and beautiful as that episode, there's most likely a gold statue on the horizon.

Posted by: Sarah | Jan 24, 2006 6:54:07 PM

Hey Zach wanted to say congrats on the 100th episode it was so funny i love the whole Wizard of Oz theme i thought that was so creative and funny as hell ...really love what's going on this season thanks for all the laughs..

I LOVED the episode! The wizard of oz theme was awesome. I think what got me was the scene where Cox tells Carla the line about courage. I love love loved it. I hope you direct more episodes of scrubs in the future. Congrats Zach!

Hey Zach
I watched GS the first time two days ago and have thought about it since. So today I went and bought it! Your acting was phenomenal, so natural and real. I love movies that are so deep like GS. Unfortunately, I've never seen Scrubs, but did see you get Punk'd!! ha ha. Now I'm on a mission to watch for your work, on screen and off. I've checked out your site for the first time and love how you're in touch with your emotion, whether it be good and bad. Also, your humor is the greatest. I'm going to check out some of the artists you mention on the blogs, I can trust your taste cuz the GS soundtrack was incredible. So, I've pumped your ego a bit here, but I want to thank you for touching my life in different ways, in such a short time! I'm now a fan of ZBizzle.
Peace out,
Katie

WOW!! Tonight's episodes were unbelievable!! Thank you so much for making me look forward to Tuesdays!! Also, I am one of the obsessed crazies pulling for "Arrested," Thanks so much for having Jason Bateman on the 2nd show! I love that you guest star on each other's shows, since you are the only 2 "can't miss" shows on tv. Thanks again!!

I feel embarrassed to say this but tonight was the first time I watched Scrubs. It's a little surprising since I loved Garden State so much that I've been your instant fan. Yet, I just never had a chance to watch. Well, gotta say that it's a really really good show and I will keep on watching. Being a fan of Sports Night, I've always felt that having a laugh track is stupid since you shouldn't be laughing because of everyone else. Also, having "heart" in a show! Wow, what a concept! Unfortunately, America doesn't seem to catch on to those two simple things in a comedy. Well, after so many years of being mad at TV for getting rid of Sports Night, I finally have Scrubs and My name is Earl to look forward to. Great job, Zach. Keep it coming.

ZACH! You're back! Loved the ep tonight. Can you direct Scrubs always, please?

Posted by: Tracy | Jan 24, 2006 8:08:08 PM

so i had my own little scrubs party tonight - me and a couple (or a few?) crown and cokes. The first episode with the wizard of oz theme has to be one of my favorite episodes ever! Of course, the wizard of oz is my favorite movie of all time... the tin man is actually the next tattoo i'll be getting. the second episode had me laughing harder - well it was either that or the drinks i enjoyed whilst watching.

Anyway, i'll bring this drunken comment to a close - congratulations! and if you get the chance check out www.myspace.com/matthewwinn it's a friend of mine from ny solo project called wildebeest - amazing stuff.

that's all! one more drink and then it's time for bed...

It was hilarious. It's the one show my family watches together. (We've been on a Scrubs kick for too many years. I think we should seek help). Random information that you probably don't care about, but my sister and I heard that you were going to be in Madison all those months ago. We thought that stopping at Wal-mart before hand would be a good idea, so we could pick up some fun clothing. After our lovely items were bought, we came out...and the car wouldn't start. We had to wait for our dad to come and jump start the car, but it was too late. So that's our sad story of almost seeing you only not. Anyway, best of luck and know that the Moo State loves you.

Posted by: Ness | Jan 24, 2006 8:21:56 PM

Hey Zach,

I had a class tonight and so I taped Scrubs. I'm going to go watch it after I finish leaving this comment. I just wanted to say that although I know NBC completely fucked you guys over by holding Scrubs till midseason (although, in their defense, they did replace it with shows that exhibit astounding amounts of creative genius, like The Biggest Loser...I smell Emmy!) but the fact that it resulted in two new episodes per week instead of one has pretty much made my life. I think the show is better than ever this year, and you guys are doing an amazing job. Scrubs really is the only show that makes me literally laugh out loud on a consistent basis--I burst out laughing six times before the credits during one of the episodes last week--and the writing and acting continue to be spectacular. Keep up the good work, and hopefully you guys are on the air for years to come.

Love,
Johanna

P.S. "Gizmo" was hilarious. I laughed for about three minutes. Nice delivery on that one =)

Posted by: Johanna | Jan 24, 2006 8:21:59 PM

too bad its not airing in Aus huh? Aus is like the geeky kid at school, we're always the last to know...

Posted by: Amy | Jan 24, 2006 8:26:48 PM

You're absolutely right. "The Girl in The Cafe" is a terrific film and I think one of those unfortunate movies that will fall to the wayside in favor of big-budget, easy entertainment Hollywood flicks. I say that with not so much disdain as disappointment - too many really good movies aren't given the recognition they rightfully should. I'll watch anything with Bill Nighy in it. I think he's outstanding.

And sorry, Zach, I saw this too late, I was well absorbed into my tivoed Idol-induced coma by the time Scrubs was on. There's bound to be a DVD though, right? Right?

Posted by: Alicia | Jan 24, 2006 8:29:05 PM

Random question (anyone who can answer this is more than welcome to email the answer to me):

Does the white balancing on something blue in any way relate to the special violet gel that my theater troupe would always use on my pasty white self?

Posted by: TheInfamousJ | Jan 24, 2006 9:08:17 PM

Hey...musical recommendation. The band is called 'Electric President,' and the best summary I've read of them is "Like Death Cab for Cutie, BUT BETTER." They are better. I think.

Congrats for reaching that 100 episode slot with Scrubs! Keep it up -- you're an inspiration to little TV/video production majors like myself! Take care!

Posted by: Meredith | Jan 24, 2006 9:12:08 PM

It was awesome!! I am going to have to watch it again cause I know I missed a lot of the Oz stuff the first time. I think it was the best ep this season so far.

Good job!!

Meanwhile...the barbershop quartet should cover video gamne music.. ala The Minibosses.

Ha! I had just commented an hour or so ago. I had only watched the first episode tonight (I had taped the second one). Anyways, just watched it and I have to say, I love the fact that JD's scooter shares my name :) And now I can say that you wore a Sasha Forever bracelet. :-p Haha. Anyways, another great episode, Mr. Braff. Well done.

Hey, Zach, I called Turk last night and talked to Brian. Pretty sweet. I also watched the 100th episode, I suppose. Was it the first one or the second one that was on tonight? Either way, I liked the first one because I had no idea the whole Wizard of Oz thing was coming, and I liked the second one because it made me laugh---always a good thing.

Zach,
Just want to say that you ROCK! The 100th Episode was AWESOME, and I'm constantly impressed :) simply genius!

"Scrubs" is the one show I can watch, and no matter what my mood, it always makes me smile, but at the same time, I'm walking away at the end of the episode realizing what an awesome message it holds.

Maybe I'm too into tv or something, but the show is one of those things that make it a little easier through the day, and for that, I'd like to thank you.

I just got TV channels again and thank god! Or i would have missed the new Scrubs. Was the 100th the Wizard of OZ one? I thought it was cute. Did Scrubs start getting more sentimental? Cause it seems that way. All in all, funny show, nicely done. Keep up the good work.

Zack, That was the best episode ever! All the symbolism was fantastic. You should direct more often. And congrats on the landmark! hopefully there will be 100 more.

I love the show and garden state. You've got a lot of talent. Keep up the good work. Holla! I'm actually within the first 200 comments , I think

i dont know the best way to say this without sounding like a creepy fan or anything, but your truly and impressive person. i only dream of amounting to anything close to what you have accomplished so far.
and im not gonna keep reambling because your not going to care, and whos gonna blame you? certainly not me. but if you do, know that i appreciate your dedication to your fans.
its fascinating.

Thanks for the post! I made my roommate and her friend stop watching American Idol at 8 so I could watch Scrubs. It's even better this year. It just gets crazier and more awesome with each episode. We need more randomness like that on TV. Anyway, thanks for the post and thanks for Scrubs, cuz it makes Tuesdays alot easier to get through when I know I can watch some amazing television when I get home :) P.S. all of us in madison are excited for the last kiss.

Hey Zach, are you going to marry Mandy Moore sometime soon? Because shes hot. And one question, what is she like in bed?

Posted by: Zaius1000 | Jan 24, 2006 10:23:00 PM

One more thing, you really created a whole genre with your Garden State soundtrack. Everyone I know has it and loves it, but today at work somebody asked one of my coworkers what kind of music she liked and she said "you know...stuff thats Garden State soundtrack-esque." I'm gonna use that to describe what music I like now :)

thanks for the video post my man. glad to hear they're keeping scrubs. can't wait for your new films!

You're like a deep thought from Jack Handy wrapped in a Twinkie. This could be the sleep deprivation speaking (damn classes) but that would be my one sentence to describe you.

i'm not sure which episode was the 100th, but they were both great. i could go on and on about what i loved about each of them, but that would take forever so i'll just say that Jason Bateman was fantastic and that you guys should have him on more, especially now that Arrested Development is all but cancelled. and maybe some of the other guys from AD, like Will Arnett.

And, HEE. I forgot just how funny Scrubs is.

Hey Zachary! My stupid computer only taped the first episode, but i really liked it!! I needed Scrubs because other than watching it I was doing homework and going to class ALL day (literally, until 12:30, its terrible!) Looking foward to your next post :)

Hi MR.BRAFF,
DVR'd Scrubs. My boyfriend already watched it. Said it "had an interesting theme to it".(yep, got the boyfriend hooked on Scrubs) I'll see it in the morning.
--I thought "The Girl in the Cafe" was pretty good. I absolutely love Kelly MacDonald ever since she played the underage love interest of Ewen Macgregor in "Trainspotting". Try "Atrophy". (Kelly MacDonald, Stephen Dorff, Lauren Holly)
Listen to any Matthew Good Yet Mr. BRAFF?

The Wizard of Oz, my favorite movie, and Scrubs, my favorite TV show, all rolled into one! how could life get any better?

Anyway that was easily one of my favorite episodes. I loved ths sort of subtle hints to wizard of oz in the beginning and then really being in-your-face about it, it was a nice transition. And I lvoed the end sequence with the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"

you have way too many fans zach braff! but love it, enjoy it, embrace it...blah blah (insert something funny)...<3 you deserve it coz you're one of the bestest actors around. season 3 comes out on dvd in 4 weeks in australia so can't wait. they're only up to 'Her Story' season 4 so don't think we'll get to see your episode for awhile. congradulations on 100 episodes though! will keep watching even if you make 100+ more! love and suffocating bear hug!

Hey, Zach. "Scrubs" is the only sitcom I tune in sacredly because the writing is brilliant as well as the performances (Ted’s quartet kills me)

I can’t believe some of the comments you get. I guess I’ll have to join the show in order to believe them:

And, as Dr. Cox would put it:

"Listen, Janice, unless you have an STD-Free male stripper wearing a nice Chinchilla thong covering his Vaseline-covered buttocks with a first name in the standards of normal pronunciation under your sleeve, I'd really like to know what's your advice for a screenplay writer from a so-called Third World Country like myself, who can actually write in English, which is, of course, not very handy in a Spanish speaking country and is pretty much stuck studying in a mediocre institute until she can finally afford her ticket to the movie set."

Feel free to reply as J.D.

“Banana-hammock!"

PS: Okay, I gotta tell you something. It was my last day in senior year (2003). I was on my way home listening to “The Only Living…” and I was wondering how I was gonna confront the whole college experience when Paul Simon magically sang: “Hey, let your honesty shine, shine, shine…” I never forgot that moment. When I heard it in your movie I literally gasped.

Congrats, you deserve all the respect you’re getting.

Here's what I love: Tens of thousands of comments on this blog since 'Garden State' opened, and there is one just posted today stating, "Wow! Hey, just stumbled upon your blog!..." It's all good, Z-to-tha-B, and nothing but good thoughts and more wishes as you continue to wander the world. So glad I'm tuned in to you (: and don't remember to check if you've posted except on the exact days you post. Peace, dude.

Dammit, Curse New Zealand and it's "oh i'm new zealand and i'm cool because it takes like several trillion years for me to ever put new episodes of a cool tv show on tv and when i do i convienently put them on when henry is working" attitude. A Face Punchin' I Will Go

i'm Going To Punch It in the Face Tomorrow Morning. Damn us Not Getting TV Seasons for like twenty bajillion years.

But Big thumbs up to you for your excessive coolness at directing. I'm looking forward to it so much... and did i hear the name jason bateman?

Jason Bateman (And other AD cast) And You are in my "if i was gay and polgamy was allowed and so was gay marriage list of men i would marry" but the rules are they have to be real people, not characters. but yeah, i'd so marry both of you.

oh can't wait for scrubs to come on. congratulations and i hope you are awarded with some kind of golden chicken statue for you efforts and badassness. or like just a ton of gold and a ton of chickens, not the kind with bird flu though... cos i don't want you getting sick, just like really badass chickens who could like just hang around your house and be cool and pour you drinks and build giant statues of you out of the ton of gold you won. I'm kinda tired and bored so i wanted to see how much whatever i could spilll out on this page.

Your movie is still the #1 movie i reccomend people at work. still, congratulations and two thumbs up

Hey Zach, I'm posting from Victoria, Australia which coincidently also used to be the 'Garden State' I think we're now 'the state on the go' though I'm not sure where too. Anyways a few weeks ago I saw Garden State for the first time, it was awesome. It was great to see something so brillently original for a change, so much so that I just had to watch it again and then again with commentary and again with the other commentary. On another note you're really hot in spanish,in a geeky antonio bandaras sorta way. Great work on having created something that has connected with people on so many levels, for me personally (and I kid you not) all this freaky stuff started happening after I watched garden state: Within hours the latch on our dishwasher broke so as it now spontaneously falls open, The Shins turned out to be playing in melbourne that very weekend-unfortuneately it was sold out- but in another twist of fate I was invited to a party of my old high school friends (no golf room orgy though)and on the way there we passed the hotel where The Shins were playing, we stayed and listend from the street for awhile. I've since bought their album 'Oh,Inverted World' and they're now one of my favourite bands.
Look forward to seeing the 100th episode of scrubs, but at the rate things find their way to our screens it'll probly be another 5 years, so congratulations in advance. Keep up the awesome work.
Peace and Love.
Adam
*Also very cool that you read these.

Wow... i can't believe i've never been here before.... well this is my first and well i gotta say i am coming back more often.... Loved Garden State.... and well every time i watch scrubs i'm very dedicated to the bottom left corner to see if you have directed it.... i have to say ur style is recognizable... and that's the best part, that you use methods that very little people even think about and that is what sets you apart from the rest... I have loved scrubs from the beginning and now i have got my new university friends addicted... we agree that the rivalry between you and the janitor is halarious and the girl calling by dr. cox.... also i have grown to love alot of the music i hear on the show and garden state.... so i am glad to see you post songs on this blog... well congrats on the 100th episode and i hope you have alot more work for the future... tv would be boring without you.... p.s. My Best Laid Plans was excellent.... thx

congradididilations on the 100th episode! i remember they mentioned it on tv before. such cool beans. thats awesome you directed it! dont hate me but i didn't get to see the show tonight...i was at college the entire day and like an old fart i passed out at 7. sad. meh, but take comfort in the fact i never watch american idol...my mom and sister on the other hand practically stampeded me at the door before because they didn't want to miss it. thats ok i didnt really need my spleen anyways. i promise you a shiny nickel and, um...toothbrushes that don't hold grudges if i miss scrubs next time.
toodles!

Oh my god! Zach, I seriously loved the Wizard of Oz episode you directed. It was one of the best episodes of Scrubs I've seen. I liked it so much I watched it again on Tivo right after I watched it the first time. I didn't get the red shoes connection 'till I watched it the 2nd time when you were going home at the very end. It made me practically giddy... =)

Anyway, I hope you're doing well....and I can't wait to see your new movies when they come out.

Posted by: Lesley | Jan 25, 2006 2:52:13 AM

yay go scrubs but i have no idea what NBC and all those craaaazy channels are coz i live all the way over in Perth, Australia and they stopped playing it so now i am mad.
You should all (including you zach) check out some aussie movies like Two Hands and Proof. We have some pretty quality directing if you syphon through all the boring indie "individual" stuff (although some of that stuff is pretty cool and artistic aswell :P)
anyhoo kepp up the good work, i so cant wait for The Last Kiss to come out coz i mean anything with you and Rachel Bilson has got to be good.
Hope everything good and congrats on 100th episode :D

Posted by: andrew | Jan 25, 2006 3:25:58 AM

So, the episode you directed kind of really was wonderful. Congratulations on 100 episodes.

Also just passed was the anniversary of when I (with my helpful group of friends) accosted you outside the Golden Globe Awards last year.

Good job, us.

Here's to another 100 episodes on your part and another tricksy stalking escapade on my part.

Posted by: Melody | Jan 25, 2006 3:26:00 AM

Zach-

That was such a beautiful episode, both visually (if I didn't have to leave in a minute I could name plenty of great-looking shots) and in heart. I haven't seen an episode I liked this much since season one (that episode was My Old Lady, by the way... I've always loved the show but this is the best it's been in so long!).

Hope the rest of the season goes well!

Wow, both of the episodes last night were awesome. I really loved the "Wizard of Oz" themes. You are an extreamly talanted director, among other things and I hope you continue to pursue your passion. Good luck with all future projects.

Definitely a nice ep. Was the final shot your idea? The aerial pull-back to the rainbow was a great touch. First time I think that angle's ever been used on the show.
