I'm working on a big juicy video post to make up for my long time absence. Please forgive me! I don't deserve such loyal fans, but I hope you'll all stick around cause things are about to get really fun. I'm not gonna drop too much, but www.zachbraff.com is truly under construction.

Hey,
I just moved to L.A. for an internship and at the end of that internship I tried desperately hard to get a p.a. job on "Scrubs." They have my resume, so see what you can do for me for next season. LOL.
I was also a seat filler at the emmys, walked right by you and sat near you too. You and Mandy looked awesome.
Peace out,
nick.

Hey Zach, I've been a long time fan of yours, ever since the first adverts of Scrubs aired I was hooked. I also recently saw the Garden State, kinda confused me but that's probably because I watched it at like 3am, but it was still awesome.
I read on an earlier post about you getting to kiss Natalie Portman and were really lucky or something. Dude, she was the lucky one!
Hope to see more films and T.V shows from you in the near future, can't wait for Scrubs Season 5!
Keep up the love and the awesomeness!

Hey Zach! Greetings from Spain!
First of all, forgive all of you my bad english... Some days ago I watched Garden State for the first time. I did it on my own, but after, I reunited my friends and we watched it together. We all agreed: the movie may seem -from the outside, and begginig with the title, and its awful spanish translation- very local, but we all felt very touched and understood that everywhere people cares about the same old things. Everybody says this, but come to Spain soon! Also, Scrubs is being aired for the first time here and it's so funny...
Good luck with all your projects.

Good to see you're still posting - and I'll have to check out the song, as I've had Mad World by Gary Jules stuck in my head all week.
Scrubs is currently airing again on The Comedy Channel here in Australia, while Garden State is about to begin on pay per view.. between that and your post, it's Zach Braff on all sides here. All I need is an action figure and bed linen and I'm set.
Look forward to the website!

I just wanted to say that I thought you were really funny at the Emmys. (How the hell do you pluralize Emmy? Emmies doesn't look right to me somehow. Why do they call them the Emmys anyway...) I had been missing your blog and needed my Zach-fix. Anyway, congrats on the nomenation and it's good to have you back.

also, to comment a bit on your personal life (which is none of my business, but you know how we FANS are), Mandy is a beautiful woman. i admit, i've had a crush on her since i saw her on the Isaac Mizrahi show a few years ago; gawd, she's got an amazing voice. and she was great on "Entourage" this season. i think its lovely to see you about town with such a bright, talented woman. we always knew you had good taste. :)

Hey Zach!
This is how I experienced “GARDEN STATE”.
Here in Germany your movie GS started in cinema in the beginning of June this year.
My first contact was when I looked through a tv magazine perhaps a week before the cinema start. There was an article as it is about all new starting cinema-movies, but before I made out anything of the written words, the picture caught my whole attention which had two causes: on the one hand cause it was so original and funny showing you in that green wallpaper-shirt and on the other hand it was you as actor who I already knew and liked from Srubs. In that very second I knew I had to see that film as soon as possible.
I googled in the Web and found your blog which was the next surprise. Couldn’t imagine that a busy actor as you would find time to write personally in a blog. A very nice idea and respect that you didn’t stop after the promotion of GS was already over; even if you take longer breaks now and then.
What I wondered was why GS took a long year to get started in Germany…!?
And at that point the last question was in which cinema the movie would be shown.
I’m studying here in Freiburg which is in the very south of Germany near the borders to Swiss and France (don’t know how good your knowledge in geography is, especially in “Old Europe” as an us all well-known President once said – thanks Mr. Bush…;) ).
The cinema situation in town is that there is the big dominating CineMaxx showing all blockbusters and having the most comfort. There is a middle one. And there are two or three smaller ones rather known to show more artistic movies. So I followed the news and saw that your film would be shown in one of the smaller cinemas. Perhaps you now think… super, I get the small cinema… but you shouldn’t care, in my opinion it is a compliment. That theatre fits best for such extraordinary movies as GS is one.
So I went there with a friend in the second run-week and I enjoyed it very much. It is so charming and full of warmth. I admire the path between funny and tragic moments.
And if you read this at all, I hope I havn’t bored you. Perhaps it is pretty interesting for you to hear how your movie goes around the world and to get a feedback not only from across your country but even across the wide Ocean.
Sunny greetings from here,
Marina :)

Said in my personal journal on September 13:
"It bothers me that one man, Zach Braff, has impacted so much of my life because I don't think anyone who has never met me and should be allowed to have that much infleunce without at least getting the chance to fall in love with me."
:-) It is phenomenal to see how successful you have become over the past short years. I hope that you forever find laughter and joy in the simple things; undoubtedly that is what makes us most successful in the end. Your work has helped me to make my place a HOME for friends and family, by bringing so much laughter and by shining a light on all those akward moments in life that we share. How incredibly God-sent. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world.

We love you Mr. Braff. Good to know you haven't taken that job at Harry's Gourmet Burgers. See, because you're really clever. It'd suck if you were gone.

Because I wasn't able to see you myself (missed you) when you were filming on S.I., I wanted to say thank you...the crew, cast, extras, etc. were all wonderfully polite and the people I spoke with from the neighborhood were not put out, or annoyed, or anything else Staten Islanders are good at being over having a film crew in their neighborhood, eating up all the good parking spots. And we're tremendously protective of our parking spots.

Zachary,
I was beginning to think that jealous rivals had kidnapped you and replace you with a life-like replicant who did not know he was supposed to post to this blog at least once a month.
I have to be brief today, but I am very pleased to hear from you. I think we all know that you are insanely busy with your career, so no worries.
I went to www.zachbraff.com a couple of days ago and it did state that it was under construction, can't wait.
MOVIE OF THE DAY: SERENITY
I think it will be a good film and great fun, also a much needed boost to the genre after those dreadful Star Wars movies.

I just wanted to tell you that I went and saw The Shins last Sat. in Brooklyn. Amazing show! I bought the Garden State soundtrack after the movie first came out and have bought both Shins albums since then. Thanks for getting them to my ears; they are easily the best band out there right now.

Zach, of course we haven't forgotten you. Most of us are still hooked on the new(ish) Scrubs DVDs. I missed all of those episodes when they aired, because I didn't start watching the show until I fell for Garden State.
I had no idea how hilarious they were. All of your colleagues are awesome, but you are the best. Thanks for all you do. :)

Yaaay! I'm a long-time reader, first-time poster, and I just thought you should hear from one more person how super you are--an inspiration, even. You don't owe us anything, yet you share so much, and that's beautiful and appreciated.
I always look forward to your music suggestions, so here's one for you: "Freeze the Saints" by Stephen Malkmus. Enjoy!

Intriguing news about your site, I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like. You never know, it might encourage me to get to work on mine.
I doubt it though. I've had it for three years and done pretty much nothing on it. Heh.
Anyway, of course we still love you. And the day after I posted on your last blog entry, I got the Scrubs season 2 DVDs. Watched them all the way through, twice, within a week.
Favourite quote: "I have dreams where I staple your fingers to your face." Cracks me up every time.

Glad your back and Looking forward to the new Site. Went the the URL and was slaped in the face by "Simular" sites. A bunch of Brad Pitt Nude links. Creepy. I can't wait till Season 2 of Scrubs comes out on DVD. I'm broke but it's worth the cash. While we're giving out musical advice. Please check out Brand New. There and oldie but a goodie. And what great is they have been arround for a few years now and no one knows it. At least not MTV. "Your Favorite Weapon" is good and popy "Deja Entendu" is far more mellow. And if all else fails you can always go back to Death Cab or Postal Service. I seem to be playing the Forbiden Love EP over and over again.

Hi Zach,
I recently saw GS and fell in love with all of it(story, soundtrack, characters). I was blown away by the film and could relate to the "numbness" you so accurately depicted. The soundtrack speaks volumes, Coldplay is one of my favorites (Parachutes, by far their best album) Thanks for putting me on to a good thing. I have experienced a difficult year and the movie really helped me through, Scrubs brings laughter to my life and that is a Godsend. I am a fan for life and I look forward to all your upcoming projects!
Quote of the day: "WE CANUCKS LOVE OUR HORNY TIM'S" (translation: we Canadians love our Tim Horton's) I hope you tried some of our World Famous coffee and donuts, it puts Dunkin Donuts to shame ;)
Well, I wanted to comment on the post by Linda from Milan (quite a few back). The english translation of "presepes" is nativity scene, so basically she wants to put the GS action figures in her nativity scene. I thought this was pretty hilarious and wanted you all to share in my laughter. (or maybe it's just a Catholic Italian girl thing)
Love, Happiness, and Good Health,
Grace

I saw a long preview for "Chicken Little" and just can't wait to see the movie and hear your voice. The movie looks really cute! I have a 4 1/2 year old so who is going to love it too (but not for the same reason that mommy does! LOL)

Bonjour Zach !
Your french fans are still here too. I was very happy to see that you've posted again ! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that yesterday we were watching scrubs with my friends and we "composed" a little song, so it goes like this :
He is such a good actor
And an amazing director
Zachary, will you mary me ?
He is incredibly funny
And I just love his movie
Zachary will you marry me ?
Just to be clear, i'm NOT proposing ! I'm not a crazy groupie ! It's just that we had a lot of fun making this little song (even though it's just lame !), and I found it funny to send it to you.
I'm waiting impatiently for the Garden state dvd to come out, in france we have to wait until the 20th of october (i'm so impatient !).
Bye Zach ! I hope you'll be abble to write soon.

Hey Zach,
I know it is almost too late to post this but I watched Garden State for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely loved it. It came out in Germany in May 2005 (!) and I wanted to see the original version - so I waited till the DVD came out. What a long wait this has been....but it was worth it.
Thank you so much for this movie. I moved a lot in my young life and it is always strange to come back to old places - watch how everybody has changed or (even more interesting) hasn't changed at all.
I trust in your talent to produce even more movies of this value and remain hopeful that you read this post. I know you are ;-)
Take care man, and thanks again.

I´m from mexico, i dont write english good, but here i go. i wrote last saturday before saw garden state.
my opinion about it and you, before see the movie, doesn´t change. i saw the movie and then again with the comentary of photographer, editor, producer and you, then again with the comentary with you and natalie (you were so fucking sweeeeett!!! with here in de dvd comentaries/comentaryes).
ok, is the fist time that something like that happens to me ( see a movie 3 times continues) something inside me happens. I have hope now, because that´s the way i think i´m going to be in love with some special guy. i have more to say, but i have to go now. is very special that you listen the people about you movie, i always wanted that the movie favorites director´s listen to me.( ok is bad redaction but it dosen´t matter )
Have a good life and thanks God that you exist.

They're a cross between Frank Black, The Pixies, and Psychodelic Furs. I saw them a couple of weeks ago in San Jose, CA, and they blew my mind. Solid band, AWESOME lyrics.

I often feel as though this is the new generation of fan clubs... remember when we were all kids and we girls would read things like "Tiger Beat" and have pictures of Jonathan Taylor Thomas "J.T.T" in our bedrooms at home? ...and now we just get uber-happy when Zach here gives us a 7-line update! Hoorah-hoorah! That is love, I think.

Hey man!
I saw you get punked on MTV the last day. You don't mess with another man's vehicle!! I hope you kicked both Ashton's and Donald's ass!!
Anywho, I've lowered my expectations a bit. I can fly myself to the states, and you just introduce me to Sarah. How does that sound? =)

Hey, I heard Zach say that he's always looking for new music. So I just wanted to drop this tidbit about an English band called Athlete. Their latest cd is called Tourist & there are some amazing songs on there that could def be used on Scrubs, especially Wires. Their songs are Coldplayish & I higly suggest Zach & everyone else to listen to their album. I promise you won't be dissappointed. :)

It's okay, Zach. My friend and I scour through US Magazine every Thursday night for our weekly dose of complete and utter trash, and I've consoled myself with pictures of you and your lovely sweetheart that are appearing in almost every issue. Is that how you know you've made it big in this country, by being featured in US Magazine weekly? Gosh I hope not! But you look happy, and as Martha would say, that's a good thing!

Anyone notice that when you click on Zachs under construction link to zachbraff.com that the first thing you see is Gay Naked and Brad Pitt Naked links...LOL...Zach , you really do love us :o)...

Arrrgggh! You registered it with NetSol! Fix that as soon as you can; they're idiots.
I recommend DomainDiscover or DirectNIC (they of the "special forces soldier holding down the fort at New Orleans datacenter"); look into www.valuecms.com for site hosting, too, if you haven't already dug into this.
GS was great; nice work on the Emmy's; damn shame you didn't win one finally; good luck on the new season... and remind Turk to change his frigging voicemail message and clear out the box, willya? :-)

Zach, It really blows that Emmy overlooked you once again. My whole family was watching and rooting for you. (And for Scrubs in general.) I would say "Maybe next year" but we all know that the Emmy voters have their heads in places best left unsaid. So just know that there are bazillions of us out here who love you and your show and think that there aren't any better comedies on TV. And if we were voting, you'd win every year.
Also, welcome back. Stick around, would ya? :)

Yeah, i was about to take this website off my easy access link, but then there you are writing a new blog and reminding me of why i love checking in . . . getting good music recommendations, hearing whats new with the most talented actor, writer, director in hollywood! Stay true, keep up the good work, and keep on with the creative inspiration! You make a lot of people happy by being who you are and shinning the way you do! Hope you're happy too!

Hi!
That German guy again!
Cool song!
Lucky me, cause the Garden State movie is still in theaters over here. Although I already got the DVD.
I totally infected everybody I know with the movie and the Soundtrack. Especially the Shins are quiet popular around my friends these days. I think I favoured every one of the movies tracks for a short while since I got it.
Hey Zach, they showed your Punk'd episode like a few weeks ago on MTV over here. Although I've already seen it online I still thought it was hilarious.
And by the way, you do deserve such loyal fans, cause the bottom line is, that you are still writing. You stay in touch with your fans on this page for almost one year now. I think you not only deserve loyal fans for that, but also respect and some big applause.
Enjoy your work and please continue putting such great songs into your movies.
:-)
See ya!

Wow, not 2 days after my first visit here and there's a new post! I feel lucky that I didn't have to wait for so long eh ;).
I just gotta say a couple things about Garden State. First of all, I absolutely love it (duh, why else would I be here) and though it's a bit early to tell, it may become my favorite movie. I borrowed it from a friend of mine, and then watched it 5 times in 4 days (plus watched special features) then I went out to buy it yesterday! I find it very difficult to describe my emotions at seeing this movie, but they are good ones, the kind that give me happy butterfly feelings all over.
I won't go as far as to say that it's changed my life, but it has deffinately had an impact. It's funny, but feel-good!
Anyway, I'll stop since I'm rambling. Keep on truckin' everyone, and Zach, I can't wait to see more Scrubs!

Shalom!
Well, your face is still all over our London Underground (in adverts for the Scrubs DVD), and you've even managed to sneak into this week's Heat magazine too (in the 'Party People' section - there's you at the Emmy's looking like you're about to snog Jessica Simpson, or was she just gazing into your eyes? What? You don't know what 'snog' means? Zach, you've got to come back to London, England again and we'll teach you :)
So what's all this fun stuff you're doing (as well as the film on Staten Island)?
Me, I'm working a forthcoming album by the legend that is Burt Bacharach (we're not worthy!) He's got Rufus Wainwright and Elvis Costello singing on it, and beats'n'loops from Dr. Dre and all sorts. Prepare to be amazed - Burt's gonna surprise a lot of people with this next month :)
As for Gary Jules - Zach, I'm sending you some Q-tips <=o For your symptoms, Dr. fLip prescribes you some Tom McRae (he's just been touring with your friends the Cary Brothers, don't 'cha know) - to be taken aurally twice a day.
Anyhoo, time to leave the office for the day, but can't wait to see your next video message.
Greetings from Her Majesty's* England (or should that be Madgesty, as in Madonna?;)

I was wondering if you had given up on the blog. Kudos on sticking with it.
I watched Garden State three times this weekend just for the hell of it. How exciting is that? (Don't answer)
Gary Jules is wonderful.
Looking forward to the video post :)

Okay, Zach, so you've got to read or wade through a whole bunch of comments to get to this one, but I hope you mean it when you say you read them because I have a question I've been burning to ask since the day I ran out to buy the Garden State soundtrack right after I saw Garden State in theatres (the dvd, of which, I bought the day it came out!).
So, my question is why didn't you put "Orange Sky" on your soundtrak!?"
I'm sure you have good reason. I sure hope so, but I just cannot believe that that was an oversight!
Oversight or no, however, you still have my love.
Good luck.
