Shalom from Canada
As we say in Montreal, "Bon Jour"!
First off, the answer to a very popular question: Yes, I am the voice of the Cottonelle puppy. I did it for free because I love toilet paper so much, I wanted to spread the word about how amazing Cottonelle is on your twosie region (no I didn't do it for free, but I must admit, it is a damn fine product). My twosie region never chafes.
My kissing skills have been nominated for an award. As though it weren't enough of a gift to kiss Natalie Portman, our kiss on the crane has been nominated for "Best Kiss" by the MTV Movie Awards. I also got nominated for breakout male actor and Natalie was nominated for Best Actress. It's up to you, the fans. So please VOTE here so we can bring home the golden popcorn.
Life in Montreal is very fun. It really is a beautiful city and the people are very friendly. I just got back from a very tasty lunch of crepes and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. I know the ice cream is from Vermont, but it's close by. The movie is going well, I haven't filmed too much yet, but I start working pretty non-stop on Monday.
I'm going to NYC for the Scrubs DVD launch party this weekend. I'm also trying to score tickets to Saturday Night Live since I just found out Will Ferrell is hosting, That guy is so funny. I just look at him and I start laughing.
I've become addicted to Halo on xbox. We have crazy amounts of downtime up here, so we've been having late night Halo tournaments and Topspin (the tennis game) battles as well. But it seems whoever's Sampras wins - conspiracy.
My buddy Cary Brothers is opening up for Aqualung all over the country, so if they come to a city near you, go check them out. I've never heard Aqualung, but I do love me some Cary Brothers.
Go check out the movie "Crash". I really enjoyed it. Also, it was time for Federof to go on American Idol. Not that I watch that crap (I totally do). But that guy can't sing. Cute blonde country singing girl all the way!
Rumor has it Arrested Development will be picked up for 2 seasons. This is a good rumor.
Did anyone see the cartoon on Saturday Night Live where doctors gave Michael Jackson special glasses so every girl he meets looks like Emmanuel Lewis? That was so wrong and HI-larious. Track it down.
Okay, I'm rambling cause I'm crazy, silly high on caffeine right now.
More to come:
xoxo

Good luck with the SNL tickets. I'm sure that'll be a great show. I've tried really hard to get them, and never succeeded. It wouldn't even matter who'd host- it could be the one guy left from Milli Vanilli for all I care. Thanks for giving me hope on a new season of AD. I don't even need to tell you how fantastic that show is.

I know exactly what you're talking about with Ferrell. I feel the same way about Owen Wilson. Once Owen came into the bookstore where I work and he asked me if we sold music and I started giggling immediately. It must be weird to get laughed at everywhere you go.
(Also, I know this is like the most common type of comment, but you ought to check out ______ band I like, in this case Okkervil River, who I really do think might be just up your alley given what I know about what you like. And thanks for introducing me to Alexi Murdoch, I've seen him play a couple times since GS came out and it's always been religious.)

Yea, the Natalie Portman/you kiss was amazing. While I was watching the movie I knew that the moment would come, and I though I was going to be jealous. Then it came and I wasn't jealous! I was really happy.. and bouncy. So thanks for making my Garden State experience very happy and un-jealous-y! And bouncy.

Come to Niagara Falls on a day off...it's kinda fun here, and our casinos are nicer than theirs...no doubt you are high on the caffiene from sweet Timmy's. And congratualtions on the best kiss nod. I wonder whose all nominated for best kiss, hmm. I should probably look that up.
Ice cream. Yummy. That makes me want ice cream now. I haven't had ice cream in a long time.
I am furious that I can't watch 'Crash' I saw Ludacris last night on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and when they gave a clip of the movie, I was like, "I want to watch it now." I think I actually had a tear. I can't see it though, it's not showing in any theaters near me. Just like Garden State didn't show here. I had to rent it. It only cost like a dollar to rent it. Hehe. Best dollar I have ever spent. >.O
The Jackson cartoon was the shit. Twas funny. I have to start watching SNL more. Ever since Jimmy Fallon left SNL, I stopped watching it. It wasn't exactly why I stopped watching it, I kind of didn't want to watch TV period. =/ Now I do! I also used to watch Scrubs when it first came out, than my mom started watching her spanish soaps so I couldn't watch it, because she'd be watching that. I was basicly screwed.
Have you ever watched the Dave Chappelle show? It's funny. Dave's my hero. I have alot of those....

Shalom Zach,
Your movie Garden State was great, but thats not why I am messaging you. I have recently discovered that the Association of University Teachers (AUT) in Britain voted to boycott two Israeli universities, Haifa and Bar-Ilan, and to blacklist their faculty. Delegates also approved resolutions mandating further inquiry into a proposed boycott of a third Israeli university. I feel it would be a great contribution Israel if you would view this website and concider signing the petition.

Hope to possibly hear back from you. My email is listed above. Thank you for your time.

aren't the canadians just so friendly though? hey, is montreal bursting in tulips? ottawa and toronto both are (i live in the former and visited the latter this week) and it's gorgeous after a long, cold, stormy winter. getting hyped up on chocolate-covered espresso beans might be even better than getting hyped up on coffee. maybe i'll go to montreal to see cary brothers play, and see if i can catch a glimpse of you filming...hehe
Posted by: amii | May 13, 2005 4:29:04 PM
that kiss is truly amazing, but the most breathtaking bit of Garden State, for me, is when you're by th efire and she says how she tapdances and asks if you want to see and you say i'd love to see you tap dance, and then it goes to a wide shot and the music builds and it's such a brief 60 second bit, but it's the most romantic bit I've seen in any movie ever.
Anybody with me??

Zach,
Welcome to Canada! Glad to have you here . . . and I'd vote for you for best kiss any day!!!!

Hey Zach,
If my friends ever see my post on this thing I'll probably be laughed out of Brooklyn, but I had to say something especially since I know you actually read these posts. Anyway, like all of the other people who write things to you here I absolutely loved Garden State. All the wonderful things people have said about kids being able to relate to the movie because of it's honesty are true. I've read at least a dozen reviews about the movie and they all say the same thing: It rocked. Though, not all things that are universally agreed upon are true, like how Asians are good at math. Because I suck at math, let me tell you. But anyway, thanks for this amazing movie. I hardly ever buy dvds because I'm Asian and I spend all my money on computer parts and kareoke machines, so it really says something about the movie that my entire family got into the Honda and went to Best Buy to buy it together. Thanks again :)

Dear Zach,
It's me again. Hope you're having fun in Canada. Wonderful, beautiful Canada.
I do hope you're right about Arrested Development. I really don't want it to get cancelled.
And thanks for saying that about Crash. I've been trying to get my friends to see t with me. Maybe they'll listen if I say it's got the Braff seal of approval.
Prom is tomorrow. I'm not going cause all my friends who are have dates. Those who don't are gonna go bowling instead and crash an afterparty. If I don't have a date next year will you go with me? I'm not too ugly.
That's all for now. I love you vewy mucha, and wish to leave you with these words of wisdom from my brilliant brain:
"Ducks go 'quack,' cows go 'moo,' and people go 'Stop poking me.'"

I've done some student films, some professional theatre and some other things around town, but I've never really had to audition for anything. I've had to send in my picture or meet someone, but no audition. Well, last week, I had the opportunity to audition for a commercial in Chicago...
I would have to dance to a song that they would be sending me. I got the song and it was, much to my dismay, TECHNO. Bummer. I hate that crap. Oh well, I can act extremely excited, which is what they wanted.
I had never been on a road trip without mom. I figured that I would leave at 6:30am (from St. Louis) to be there by 1pm. Chicago isn't that far. My first mistake was getting directions off the internet. My directions didn't take me up 55, they took me through the middle of IL and then north. My ETA was still about five hours, so I figured I was good. Yah right, they underestimated mileage on one highway by like fifty miles. I arrived in the city of Chicago at 12:45. I found the street corner that the building was supposed to be on and I didn't see it, so I called for directions. I was correct, all I had to do was make a square and go back to that corner. I never saw the street I was supposed to turn on. This was probably because I've never driven in a major city before and people are just nuts, walking in front of my car at every cross walk when it is my turn!!!!!!!!! I really started to freak out when I realized that I was driving to Navy Pier. Something told me to follow the car ahead of me. I was now headed back to down town. I thought I had to cut right as soon as I could, so I did. As I made the turn, I started thinking that this is not good, I don't want to be on this road. When I got to the top of the hill, I saw a car coming toward me. AHHHHHHHHH!!!! I had turned on an exit ramp for a highway. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't back up (I'm too short to see over my seats). I looked left and saw a hill about five feet tall, it wasn't steep, but it was nicely landscaped with small plants. Not anymore! I drove straight up it. Two taxis saw me and blocked traffic so I could get back on the road. I called again for directions and at this point I didn't care if they gave me directions home or to their office. They stayed on the phone with me until I got there.
When I got there, I had been in my car for a few hours with no break. I had to use the bathroom even though I was almost ten minutes late. Oh well. I did the dance and it went exactly as planned. They had me do it a second time with a burger and a piece of the bun fell between my boobs. I don't think anyone noticed until it worked it's way down toward my pants and I had to tug at my short to let it go. I put a big smile on my face thanked them for the opportunity and got the hell out of there!!
I was so glad to be out of there. What a bad day. Oh wait, I have to drive home now.
Damn!!
Needless to say; I didn't get the job.
I tried out for the Soapnet Days Of Our Lives contest today and got massively sun burned while waiting for them to call my name.
It gets better than this, right????

Got my copy of Scrubs already... perfectly legal too.
The darn thing is that I watched it like I used to eat easter eggs as a kid - in large sessions!
It's so much better when you savor the eggs, space them out over a month or two...
What a fine show Scrubs is - I can see why you love doing it.

Congrats on the nominations. I voted, and maybe that will count for something.
I hear lots of good things about Halo... but I haven't gotten to play. I'm more of a UT girl myself...
As I'm sure you've heard from a lot of people, I absolutely love Garden State... And the sountrack rocks too.
LOL @ the fact i have a huge thing of cottonelle in my bathroom that i got from wal*mart this past week... heh.

I knew was you in in that puppy...I thought it ate you! And Will Ferrell is amazing, you are SO lucky if you get tickets. Oh, and I voted for you guys in ALL the categories for the MTV Movie awards, of course I did, it's only the beast movie EVER! I'm a huge fan, as well as a huge fan of Scrubs. I'll be buying the DVD tuesday instead of studying for finals.
Have fun with the new movie!

Just saw Aqualung and Cary Brothers - AMAZING! They both rocked my world...awesome performers! Cary told me he is coming back in the fall...I'm very excited! I'm glad I got to see him in such an intimate venue before his talent is fully discovered. They are immensely talented and down to earth guys!! Thanks for the recommendation :)

Hahahahaha holy crap Zach. Me and my 3 friends have the most RIDICULOUS Top Spin doubles matches. We usually play for pizza, losers have to pay. We go insane. That's so funny that you mention you play that game it's frigging awesome. And to make it fair, we ALL play with Pete Sampras. That's the best way to go. Me and my friend Zach are pretty awesome though I think we could definitely take you. Our net and backcourt skills are unmatched, as well as serving. Power serve baby.
Also I've been on a huge Kevin Smith high lately, he's friggin hilarious. I really hope you do Fletch Won with him it sounds like it'd be a great duo. Send me an email if you ever want some good doubles competition in Top Spin...we could have an online battle.

Have you eaten poutine yet, dude? How can you go wrong with french fries, cheese, and gravy, eh?
If ad gets picked up for two season I will be so happy. That means next year I can spend late april/early may doing something other than yelling at fox for considering cancelling such an awesome show!

um hi,
did you think canadian's weren't nice? we are the nicest people on earth! glad you are enjoying your time in montreal...can you come to toronto? i want to meet you. if you don't, i will come to montreal and stalk you. you have my word. not that i am one of those obsessive fans that would squeal, "oh my god, look there is zach braff! he is such a hottie!" when i see you...not that you aren't handsome, but i would approach you calmly because i love you more for your writing, directing and acting skills in garden state and well, the movie is absolutely amazing, and being a film major i've seen A LOT of movies. so you should take that as a compliment!
take care and eat some wheat grass, i hear it's good for you.

Hiya. I just saw your movie Garden State two days ago. I thought it was a great movie. I wasn't completely sure if i would like it or not, but i fell in love with it after watching it for like 5 minutes. The whole kissing scene was awesome though. I didn't know it was going to happen, it was like you were screaming into the abyss and then... kiss.
I bought the soundtrack. I love "Let Go" by Frou Frou. I listened to it like 20 times since i bought it.
I definetly think you will win at the Mtv Movie awards. Garden State was so awesome. I don't think i'll ever get over it. I have to go out and buy the movie soon. So i can watch it again.
I cried at the end, because it was so happy. My friend was like "what the hell are you crying about?" I was like its so happy it makes me cry!
So i don't know if you mentioned it in your entry for today or not, but i wanted to ask. What are you in Montreal for? Is it cold there?
Alright. So i am glad i found this site on this lovely friday the thirteenth. And it's cool that you are the voice of the cottonelle puppy.
I hope you're having a good time where ever you are.
Bye bye...

Hey Zach!
Congrats on the nominations! I'll be voting for sure.
It's great to hear that you're enjoying my homeland. Canada loves you.
I was supposed to go out this Saturday, but then I found out about Will hosting, so you can bet your ass (or something else of great value) that I will be staying at home in anticipation. I wonder if he'll be doing his old skits (the "lovah" bit perhaps?).
Anyways, this comment was lame and I am sorry for wasting precious minutes of your life. Well, not that sorry. But still, sorry.
By the way, cute blonde country girl has the personality of a thumbtack.

haha caffeine.
Puppies are totally cute.
Rock on Zach Braff
Posted by: Bianca | May 13, 2005 5:33:16 PM
Man, you're brave to keep your comments open. I'd go freakin' crazy deleting stuff if fangirls kept posting off topic comments on my blog.
Cottenelle is goot stuff... Good for you advertising products that are actually good and useful... Even if you're in the guise of a cute little puppy.
Posted by: nikkiana | May 13, 2005 5:33:23 PM
Zach,
Couple of things:
First, you guys *definitely* deserve the best kiss award, no questions asked! Seriously, the only on-screen kiss that made my heart swell as much was at the end of "Bend It Like Beckham."
Second, I used to always write "hilarious" as "hi-larious," so it made me smile to see you do the same =)
Aside from that, crepes are awesome and don't let Halo eat your life. Trust me, I know too many guys at college who've let that happen to them, and it'd be a shame to lose you too, haha. Anyway, hope you keep enjoying Canada!
~Catie
Posted by: Catie | May 13, 2005 5:33:52 PM
NOOOOOO!!!!
Not you too! I had hoped that Halo *wouldn't* take over every guy on this planet. I'm officially crushed that it has sucked you in too. But have fun in Canada and I *heart* your cottenelle commercials. Even if it is slightly creepy that you are a little fuzzy puppy.
Love and Prayers for you overcoming your Halo obsessions (if it hasn't gotten out of control yet...it will)

Okay, some of the people commenting here scare me, but not as much as your obvious love for toilet paper *raises an eyebrow*
I've had Crash on VHS for years, and it IS fabulous. Most of the people I know can't bear to watch it.
While we're recommending things, I HAVE to point you in the direction of a British author named Michael Marshall Smith. I've just finished reading his best novel, Only Forward, for about the zillionth time. Really, pick it up if you ever get the chance. Would like to hear your opinions on it.
Enjoy Canada.
Posted by: Corby | May 13, 2005 5:34:27 PM
haha, you've gotta love that good ol' toilet paper. ^_^
i think a documentary would be a nice future project: Behind the Scenes- Zach Braff
(or something generic of that flavor)
have a nice week!

I love me some Aqualung. Check him out if you get the chance, particularly "Gentle," "Brighter than Sunshine," "Just for a Moment," and "Breaking my Heart." I'm going to the show 6/7 at the Troubadour. Seeing Cary again will be great too.
Posted by: Audrey | May 13, 2005 5:37:47 PM
Wait, so there IS a scrubs DVD?
I heard it wasnt going to happen because all the royalties would cost too much or something.
Thats such awesome news!

Zach -
What up my nizzle? Just wanted to say hi. Anywho, I wanted to know if you've checked out Amos Lee yet. If not, I think you'd like him. Now, you owe it to me to trust me right now, because I so trust your music tastes. We don't want to break this relationship up, Zach, we just don't. And also, upon your advertisement for Ray LaMontagne I have bought the entire CD via iTunes, I love that program, this is my advertisement for you. Well before I go here is a link to Amos Lee's -Arms of a Woman from iTunes. Check it out! http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=46516955&selectedItemId=46516868
Also, I watch SNL as if it were the only thing on, so you NEED to get those tickets and do one of those special appearances. Also, that Michael Jackson/Emmanuel Lewis thing was hilarious!

I remember losing my boyfriend for a month to the game Halo.... such an addictive game.
that kiss is the best kiss in the world. ... so real. no cheese in sight and yet the passion that was there was just excellent.
also natile P? totally hot
also Zach B? toally hot (go you stud muffin)
have been longing for scrubs on DVD. if you have time- I laugh, like you have any time- could you let me know when it comes out in... Australia?
mwa for you Braffy man. keep up the good work!

So my boyfriend and I are extremely slow and were REALLY excited about Scrubs coming out on DVD... last week... when we went into the store and quite insistently informed the guy behind the counter that it WAS out and we NEEDED it for our collection. We are idiots, but we are dedicated, which should count for something? We shall be buying it early on the 17th though, as I am a lonely housewoman now and need someone to entertain me.
Plus, dude... Golden Retriever Zach.. how adorable is that? Even your VOICE is cute ;)

Do I smell Michael Jackson humor?
You should watch Robot Chicken Sandwich on Cartoon Network.. The white Michael Jackson had a dance off-fight with the black Michael Jackson. Needless to say it was priceless television viewing.
Good luck with the gold popcorn, "Love your hair, hope you win!"

game rec for xbox: FUSION FRENZY!
now THAT is much better than halo- especially in groupe.
enjoy.

Hey Will Ferrell is here in chicago filming stranger than fiction. You could always just run into him at the near by Whole Foods while he sips his Starbucks in a fly Puma jogging suit. Well thats what we do around here. Still wishing I got on that movie. Oh well.

I saw Aqualung at Wembley Arena in London last year supporting Feeder. Both were class.
Aqualung also started out life doing the theme to a VW ad with "Strange and Beautiful". Obviously this was in the UK, so I dont know if you guy you would have seen it.
Posted by: Gary | May 13, 2005 6:03:37 PM
Aqualung's good, you'll like 'em. Think Wicker Park soundtrack.
And Crash was just a tad bit too schmaltzy for me...
but the rumors on Arrested Development are very real -- though I think it's gonna be brought back for a whopping 8 episodes or something. Kinda sucks, but better than nothing.

SCRUBS! and dude, I totally saw your intro to that movie on MTV, "I'm Still Here" [not that I actually watch that crap channel; my teacher showed it to us in school :\] and... that was really random. I was surprised at that thing because for MTV it was very weird, but it was too "let's make the Holocaust slightly appealing to teenagers" whatwith that music and you and Elijah Wood's voice, which I am ashamed to admit I recognize. It's pathetic to see that I'm in a minority of hish school kids and not among those who think that the Holocaust is the Jewish Christmas where they light the candles, but come on, MTV. Moby? That's kind of inappropriate, too. Damn, now I'm rambling. But that's because I'm a huge history geek.

Canada is a fun place. Somehow whenever I go into a gas station there I always manage to leave with a single banana and more money than I started with. Is Elliot REALY leaving Scrubs? I didn't really think that it would happen when I watched the show, but now I'm a little worried.

I have actually heard Aqualung - they are pretty good- I'm looking forward to Coldplay's new CD and their tour!! Their buzz concert sold out in like 2 minutes in Chicago but they are coming to Alpine Valley so I'm happy again!
LOVE WILL FARRELL - I'm taping SNL this week- maybe we'll see ya! I went and saw Kicking and Screaming on Tuesday and laughed so hard! The man cracks me up!

Okay, so you're pretty much a "star" getting all this tabloid press about you and Mandy. So shouldn't you get a "guest star" on SNL this weekend? Like one of those cameo stunts in the opening commentary. Hell, just crash it. You go man!
I have to say I was at the original Ben and Jerry's this past weekend and it was awe-some.
Your post this day made me laugh - especially the "Bon Jour" which really is bonjour. Also the twosie region, and the American Idol shit. Go Bo!
That SNL Michael Jackson cartoon was hi-larious.
Peace be with you!

hey zach if youre in montreal here are some pointers
do not go to club la boom, its bad news and disgusting
go to quebec city if you can, its beautiful, and a lot less grungy than montreal (if you can at all describe montreal as grungy), it is quite possibly my favourite city in canada
go buy something at simons, its on st catherines, and soooo nice and cheap and fun
oh and some things to eat while youre in quebec (i spent 2 months there last summer so i should know)
- poutine (duh)
- tarte du sucre (basically a sugar pie, but its delicious)
oh and try to be in quebec for st jean baptiste day, itll be awesome

I'm not from Vermont, but friends and I hole ourselves up in a big house on the side of Mount Killington every fourth of July for a week and have a grand old time. Last summer we finally visited the Ben and Jerry's factory (it's just not the same experience until you've ordered a Vermonster....I won't even try to explain it. Just bring about $40 in cash and a dozen friends to help you finish it). Knowing that you have a clue where it is made my heart go all a-flutter like a thirteen-year-old.
Ironically, a Vermont vacation pasttime is rigging up two xboxes with ethernet cable to the two TVs in the house and playing 8-man multiplayer Halo every afternoon. Being the girly girl I am, I mostly just watch, but there's something about running people over with tanks that's kind of fun, I'll admit.
Let's also throw in that I'm from Jersey (131 off the Parkway! Not too far south of the Oranges)and, you know, really, it's just kismet we're talking here. Take me, Zachary, take me now ;o)

Hey Zach!
I'm going to NYC in a few weeks, but somehow I feel certain I'm not going to score tix to SNL.;-)
I will be sooooo happy if the rumor is correct about "Arrested Development"! I thing "The Seaward" is just about the funniest thing I've ever seen/heard. I wish I had come up with it. And I'm so happy to hear that you watch AI. All of my old AI buddies abandoned me after season two. Fair-weather friends they are. I know the show realllllly sucks, but I just can't stop watching that or America's Next Top Model...or Making the Band...or Project Greenlight. I blame YOU for convincing me to get TiVo!
Btw, thanks for convincing me to get TiVo.
Be well,

Hey Zach! I'm so excited that Aqualung & Cary Brothers are touring together. Such an awesome combo. You should seriously check Aqualung out. He's like Coldplay & Radiohead put together. I love his album! Anyway, have a good weekend dude! <3

Whoa, you're up against Napoleon for breakthrough, which will be tough. Though I voted for you without anticipation. Topspin is awesome! Though I hope you beat Sampras as he is a boring monkey-man.
Posted by: Brooke | May 13, 2005 6:42:41 PM
Oh my buddy.. It's eerie how u say these similar things.. SNL is my first favorite show ever.. OF MY LIFE! (Scrubs is now.. tied..Don't know how the hell u managed to do that.. but u did.. congrats) I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo voting for ya'll on mtv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm super oober excited! DAMN YOU AND YOUR HALO!!!!! Ahhh!.. I'm not going to lie it is tons of fun watching all your guy friends play HALO at 3 am..(tried to play.. can't..it's been proven women cannot handle 3D as well as men) sooo watching my guy friends..cough cough love interests.. cough.. play HALO is totally cool..However, I get worried when I notice that ya'll don't blink.. I don't think thats ok.. (it's been proven that if u don't blink a certain amount in a day you WILL get tetnis. Then, an overwhelming episode of herpes and genital warts.) So, you must understand to not become obsessed with the game.. You know, the herpes and all.
I LOVVVVVE THAT EPISODE OF TV FUNHOUSE ON SNL!!!!!! I cracked up sooooo hard! I LOVE YOUR TASTE! AHHH!

Aqualung is AMAZING! And I can't believe Cary Brothers is opening for them! Thanks for the info! I gotta check this out!

DAMMIT! I meant hesitation, not anticipation. Silly me, trying to impress people w/ vocabulary.
Posted by: Brooke | May 13, 2005 6:44:39 PM
Seeing SNL live would be so cool to me. Kind of like watching Second City is when I'm in Chicago, but with people that I'm so familiar with.
Watching American Idol is a bad, bad habit (I totally do it too). I'm all for Bo though, because everytime I see Carrie (the blonde) I think she looks a wee like Alicia Silverstone and I'm waiting for the "speak" to emerge...

halo? what are you, twelve?
Posted by: caroline | May 13, 2005 6:48:29 PM
Oh god, now people are having competition on who can comment first? *sigh* Whatever.
If my computer wasn't being so stupid, I would so go and vote. Dude, that kiss looked so amazing. The whole romance is just...so beautiful. One of the best film romances, right up there with Jack/Rose and Bridget/Mark. Hell yeah.
(I'm such a romantic, can't you tell?)
Peace + love,

Some time back, you said that this site might be closed down. (I know this is off topic from your recent post and I apologize for that.) I was just wondering if you heard any update on that. I enjoy reading your posts and would be saddened if this was closed down. Good luck at the MTV Movie Awards. I rarely watch that, but I will definitely this year.

you rawk, zach. Scrubs was SOOOOOOOOOO good/sad this week. this isnt the last season, eh? meep.
how does andy roddick do in Topspin? heh.
annnnnnd do you like snow patrol?
Posted by: amanda | May 13, 2005 6:52:49 PM
Yeah. The MTV awards is on my birthday. August 28th. So, when you get to go up there and give a nice little acceptance speech you should definitely "Wish Jessica a Sweet Sixteen" Or maybe you could do it on the red carpet.
Ha. That would be so fly.
DO IT!
I dare you.
-Jessica
P.S. You are definitely my favorite.
Posted by: Jessica | May 13, 2005 6:54:29 PM
I'm fairly sure I have a 6th sense that lets me know when you're about to post... strange, but true. Anyway, I'm jealous that you get to be in Canada, and that there's even a possibility of you going to see SNL... I would kill for tickets to SNL. Tina Fey is my role model. I was going to go see Aqualung & Cary but I found out about it 2 days after they played... oops. :) Oh, by the way, multiple people are claiming to be you on TheFacebook.com... what's up with that?!
Luff,
Rachel K

Okay, None of the catergories for the MTV Movie awards were harder to vote for than Breakthrough Male.. I mean come on.. the little boy in Finding Neverland? Just looking at that picture makes me weep. But, alas, I am voting for ZB because, over all he (you?, if you still read all of these comments) was (were) overall better (excellent!). Good luck :)
PS totally voted NP for Best Actress, and the ZB + NP duo for Best Kiss!
Posted by: Meghan | May 13, 2005 7:05:43 PM
Dude, can you please tell me if there will be another season of Scrubs? I sort of got the impression there wasn't when watching My Changing Ways.
But you bagged my vote, man. Loved Garden State. Which reminds me, which part of filmmaking do love more, acting or directing? I was wondering when watching Garden State for about the 6th time which it was. You are a truly great director and GS is an awesome first movie.
Posted by: Arnor | May 13, 2005 7:08:27 PM
I've only been reading this blog since it began and yet this is my first post - I think it's about time to pop the postin' cherry! Anyway, just wanted to tell you that Crash IS amazing!! My friends and I were just talking about how the only great movie we had seen in the theaters in months (the kind where you leave the theater and you can actually see how your life has been changed) was of course Garden State, so we were thrilled to see Crash this afternoon! It's about time truly great films are being made rather than the mainstream crap we are usually forced to see. So thank you for that... OK, well I better go - don't want to say something lame on my first post!
Hugs,
Katie

ZB:
Glad to see you're posting again and yes I have to agree with you, Top Spin is like electronic crack. I think you need to embrace the YOU that is a tennis player and create yourself on the game. I think everyone ends up looking slighly mongoloid but hey, that's not THAT far off from Sampras right?
Oh and by the way, I could totally school your ass in Halo 2. My name is Nikita. Watch for it...yeah, that rocket is going right up the ass. I'm going to go out on a limb here and just say that *might* not be pleasant.
Well if there is a God up there (and surely there must be for Spamalot got 14 Tony nominations) then Arrested Development will not be left to die in the *too smart for Fox* shitpile. How else are we going to see you on there again?
Why don't you just show up to SNL and say, hey, I'm Zach Braff and my kiss with Natalie Portman is up for an MTV Movie Award, now let me the hell in! Or you can beg, that might work too.
Lastly, if you like Aqualung, why don't you try listening to Carbon Leaf (http://www.carbonleaf.com)? Trust me on this, you'll like them, in fact I think you'll love them. I'll even send you the cd!

you should get a xanga and leave me a comment. i would totally cream my pants. tee hee tee hee. no.
ok this is random but, i'd like to know do you ever watch Reno 911? And, also do you know Michael Ian Black? both are equally hilarious.

You are a busy man...Montreal, weekends in NYC, crepes and x-box. How do you fit it all in. If ever you need a personal assistant (nice Jewish girl) to help you with your busy schedule, I am the one. Currently, I assist a four year old (nanny), but hey, what's twenty five or so more years, and a movie/tv career behind you? I live in Seattle and listen to Aqualung quite often...I will have to check out that other group. As for recommending a fabulous radio station online...try www.kexp.org GREAT MUSIC and djs.

Yay Zach!
Don't forget to have some real "Montreal Style Bagels" while you are there. They can't be beaten!
Just sitting here watching the series finale of Enterprise. I'm a life long Trekkie nerd...
No, I've never been to a convention....
:::looks around nervously:::
No, really...
Anyhoooo, not only am I bumming because this week was the last epsiode of Scrubs for months and months and months, but now I'm completely out of any Trek fixes for the foreseeable future.
Such is life.
Har.
So anyway - do you watch any of the other medical shows? How about that new one...Grey's Anatomy - seems like ABC's "more serious" answer to Scrubs to me. It has its moments, but it'll never be Scrubs.
I should probably go - we've got an electrical storm brewing here right now, and I just heard some thunder off in the distance.
Good luck with that golden popcorn award. LOL
Take care,
Vanessa :-)

i'm sure u've heard a hundred like these b4...but at the risk of being all melodramatic and blasse i'm gonna go on...trying to keep this short...i picked up garden state and watched it today...and i must say i loved it...i've been in this weird place in my life..i just moved to the states a year ago and started college...so stressful and my grandma just passed away...i don't noe exactly wat it is bout this movie...i guess it kinda hits the nail on the head as to how i've been feeling...like i don;t know who i am...lost my identity wen i left trinidad...and it gives me hope...."one day my prince will come" and all the other cliches that go with it...thank you zach braff for making such a beautiful film....

not as if anyone really is interested...but i will share my story now....perhaps the best story i can tell....it has the perfect blend of a happy moment followed by a sad memory....we, as in you Zach and i, shared a moment once....or more to the point...we shared a look, a smile, and a laugh once a few years back....it was so adorable...and i thought of you often afterwards...and then one fateful day, there you were...on my tv screen....it was surreal.... and went from being a fond memory to being a sad thought....at that point i realized fate would never grace me with a repeat of that moment...something i had hoped would occur for years....it was so innocent and pure...so memorable... that i naively believed that somehow, some way our paths would cross again....hmm...at least i still have that moment...and it will never die....i am fairly certain you will never read this....and many people will think i am a lunatic on the grass or a liar...or both....but i don't care...i just wanted to share....and here i can do that without feeling personally attacked or that my memory had somehow been violated....ah, the preciousness anonymity gives us....i leave you with immense well wishes and hope....take care always....

wow i'm from vermont. if you ever get the chance to go to a place called "Chez Cora Dejeuner" in Montreal, you should go; highly recommended. hope you get snl tickets - although it got a lot less funny when will ferrell and jimmy fallon left.

Hope you get the golden popcorn! Really, that kiss with you and Natalie was awesome. It deserves recognition :)
Aaaah I've been waiting for Scrubs forever! I am so going to have a marathon on a rainy summer afternoon/night/morning.
Crash does look good. I'll have to check it out.
SNL is hilarious! Hope you get tickets to the show...which is this big dream for me, as I live a million miles away and don't have the slightest chance anyway.
It's Friday the 13th! I need to go do something unlucky...

Zach..so glad to hear from you again. your entries always make me laugh. keep including the links to shows, music etc. The last link you had with the "funniest thing you ever saw" actually ended up circling in a chain email i got at work. I am sure one of the FOGS started the I have been a fan since I saw him intro Paul Simon at the singers and songwriters ceremony 2 years ago. Funny about the xbox. My guy friends are totally hooked on HALO. My friends 5 year old can kick my ass in just about all the games- just like his dad! Well have a safe trip and best of luck on the set.

Zach,
Hey you can't beat working for a toilet paper company. Do you get a lifetime supply of toilet paper or what. If not it's time to restructure the contract. For some reason I'm on the internet on a Fri night. Okay I am officially worried about myself and am going to leave the house immediately.
Take a deep breath and enjoy your surroundings,
Devin

Wow you're the cottonelle puppy?! Thats sooooo cute! And I agree, toilet paper is one of the nicer things in life to have....I mean I don't really want to think about what life would be like without it.
Speaking of acting voices though it startled me the other day to learn you were also in a couple of the Clone High episodes. That by far is one of the funniest animated series on the planet! Do you know why they cancelled it? Could you use your powers that be to start it up again, or at least make a one hour finale movie that doesn't end with such a big cliffhanger?
I'm looking forward to picking Scrubs up on Tuesday we should be getting some in at the Blockbuster I work at. I hope there is lots of extra funny bonus stuff in there ^_~
I saw Crash last night and I agree it was very well done, though there was a character or two I thought could have been brought to more justice.
Glad you're enjoying Canada, I'm rather fond of it myself. Good Luck at the MTV movie awards I hope you win bucketloads of golden popcorn just don't eat to much of it or all your teeth might fall out.
Peace, Luv and Beaver Tails!
~Janessa
PS: I'm serious while you're in Canada you must eat a Beaver tail, ask a local they'll tell you where you can get one they're super yummy!

Yeah Canada! Holllaaaa'
Okay I will stop now.
Montreal is indeed beautiful. If you're there around July still be sure to check out the Montreal Jazz Festival.
Also? Aqualung is awesome.
I thought Cottonelle had kitttens? Or am I thinking about another toilet paper brand completely.
Posted by: Sherry | May 13, 2005 8:21:10 PM
Bienvenue a Montreal :) I hope you liked the Old Port - from the crepes and ice cream, sounds like that's where you were.
If any of the people working with you are into chicken as food, I recommend Chalet BBQ at the intersection of Sherbrooke St and the DeCarie. It's got the best chicken in the world. Doesn't look like much (actually, it doesn't look like anything), but... wow.

Hey Zach,
I envy you for the prize of kissing Natalie Portman, but anyone can get gold popcorn, just like getting a small gold man. No biggy. Hope you win though.
Scrubs was brilliant, and I have just become an Arrested Development fan thanks to DVD. I loved seeing Tobias cry in the shower after reading the play of his directorial debut.
Im buying GS next week on DVD when itll be released. And then I will buy another one the next day, for the pure fun of it and to watch my bank account numbers hit the negaitves.
Enjoy Canada,

I told my roommate, "Whoa, I think that's puppy's voice is Zach Braff!" I giggled, "He is Chicken Little after all." So yay me, I was right.
You have NO idea how stoked I am that Scrubs DVD-season one is finally coming out! I'm making my roommate drive me to Best Buy cuz I want the one with extra disc :) Besides which, the timing of its release couldn't be any less perfect, I'll have something to watch Tuesday during the summer hiatus :)
Congrats on you and Nat for best kiss! That ending made me cry so much! I'm gonna go vote right now.

There's a Cottonelle PUPPY? Is this an American thing or am I just clearly not watching enough television? And is Cottonelle the same brand that has that REALLY CREEPY BEAR? ...no, wait, that's fabric softener. Never mind.
I'm so glad you're liking Montreal! Even though I really had nothing to do with it, it just happens to be in my country. But still, it makes me happy! A friend and I are actually going down to shop in a couple of weeks (I do this frequently, since we live so close, and the shopping there is so much better than in Ottawa). Maybe we'll see you around! I am much less coherent in real life, though, I must warn you.
I JUST discovered the crazy-goodness that is Arrested Development! I want to marry this show and bear its tiny babies. So, yeah...good news, indeed! (It is so wrong of me to think that George Michael/Maeby is really, really cute. But I do.)
I could ea
